jackty...we have 3 bubblers in our beach and 3 deck jets shooting from between boulders around the pool...picture below. We also have 2 aerators which are located in 2 of the boulders and shoot a fan shaped pattern of water. In addition to being nice to look at we've found some funtional uses as well. Below are some of them in no particular order As they say, you're mileage may vary. Bubblers 1. Nice foot massage when sitting in a chair with feet over 2 of the bubblers. 2. Kids love to play with them..plugging 1 or 2 of the 3 with their hands makes the others go higher and lower 3. plugging and unplugging them also makes the deck jets "dance" because their on the same circuit. 4. kids and adults play with them and let their legs and arms get massaged Deck Jets 1. While in the pool, let the jet stream land on the head and shoulders...relaxing. 2. kids like to plug and unplug...same effect as above 3. During summer months, the deck jets can be ran at night time to cool the pool (important here in Louisiana)...the aereators also provide more cooling effect because of the larger surface area of the spray. 4. One recent use the kids found...they can use the deck jet nozzles to fill up water balloons. Hope this helps.

If you are looking for a budget sunshelf bubbler option, a regular pool return eyball can be used. We have 3 of these placed in our 6" sunshelf and are happy with the effect per attached picture. In 6" of water, there is enough air that mixes at the surface of the water to create some of the frothy effect Rob o mentions. Also, a picture is attached that shows 2 of the eyeballs in the 6" of water with the pump off (the black objects in the picture). The only drawback to this option is the eyeballs do protrude above the pool floor about 3/8 of an inch. They do not cause a problem with stubbing toes since the eyeballs are rounded, but just be aware of this fact when considering this option. A ball valve placed at the equipment pad allows the bubbler height to be adjusted from just breaking the surface to about any height desired with even the smallest pool pumps in 6" of water. Different strokes for different folks...... LOVE LOVE LOVE our trash compactor. Took one out of our last kitchen remodel and replaced it with 2 pullout trash cans. I *hated* the trash pullouts! They were twice as bulky, and we had to empty them every day. The trash compactor is one unit (though we have a separate bin for curbside recyclables), and we empty it maybe once a week. I also love my corner lazy susan cabinets. I have 3 of them; one for spices, one for medicines and coffee/tea supplies, and one for little-used small gadgets. They totally make our corners useful, and I don't have things fall off the sides. Things I would not recommend: -OTR micro. I agree about that one. I hate how close to the cooktop they are, and the totally inadequate venting. -Open kitchens if you have teenagers and you don't have a house with enough "getaway" space for everyone. OUr last house only had one living room, which we opened to the kitchen in the remodel. It looked beautiful, and when it was just DH and I, we loved it. But when we were sitting down in the evening trying to unwind and watch a show and teaming throng of teenagers burst through the door and starts fixing food, getting ice, etc., we quickly began to hate the setup. We moved to a house with doors on the kitchen and 2 living rooms and couldn't be happier. (For now!)

I’m DEFINITELY with the group that DO NOT like FD style. Sorry to say this but - yes, I’m of the opinion the FD style is just another way to capture the market for people who have to have the latest en Vogue (anything) even if it doesn’t really make practical sense. I have stayed at two different family‘s homes over the past five years (they both love their FD frig designs) and I have used their FD frig(s) in multiple situations where there were large gatherings of people, with lots of food prep going on, as well as just daily food prep, putting groceries away, getting ice out of bottom freezer for drinks, to fill ice chest; opening the door to access the water and having to use both hands to press on the water dispenser while also holding the glass; putting away leftovers, etc., so I have plenty of experience with all aspects of their use - and I can say hands down that I would never purchase FD for my home. I have owned all other types of R/F configurations, and can say categorically this is not for me. I have just remodeled my home and purchased my newest S/S frig/freezer, and I LOVE it. This is my 3rd S/S (water/ice on outside of door) I’ve purchased in 25 years. (I still have the first one (largest) I purchased 25 years ago - sitting in my garage - and it works like a charm.) Many reasons for my personal choice: 1. I love the the front mount, easy access, ice/water dispenser for beverages (for all family members including children. I am not the mom that doesn’t want my kids to touch stuff.). You can set the glass down on the ledge for easy dispensing; the newest frig even has simple press of the button feature to fill, or hold glass against the lever if you prefer. If you need large quantities of ice, it’s simple to empty the ice maker, (that fits securely in the door and is a closed compartment design); which brings me to another problem I have with the FD ice maker - if you want to remove the ice bin you have to bend down, pull the bin out and then it’s open and seems pretty unsanitary even though it’s in the back; when the ice bin is full, it’s heavy to lift up and out, requires a strong back (and lots of space) if you want to pull the ice bin out to fill an ice chest, etc. 2. I don’t like to have to open both doors to see things: think about it - if there are multiple people in your home - unless you’re a kitchen freak - its hard to make sure everybody is putting the milk away in the same door each time, let alone on the same shelf. 3. Ok - I’m a busy girl and while I could think of many more reasons why I think the FD frig is a mistake - I would rather just stand here admiring my new remodeled kitchen while I place my glass on the ledge and let my automatic water dispenser fill my glass…..without having to open the door……
