New Bluestar RCS -- gas smell after I turn off burners

This is my second Bluestar-related question since having the RCS installed a few days ago. I spent a lot of time on this forum researching before I made the purchase, and I appreciate everyone's insights.

So here goes... Is it normal to smell gas just after you turn off the burners? I don't smell it during ignition or while the burner is lit, but I smell it strongly right after I turn off every burner, and it lasts a full minute or longer. It's pretty unpleasant. I've cooked with gas ranges for decades and never experienced this. It's like the gas flow takes a really long time to actually shut off.

A service tech came out today to address a few issues (apparently the simmer burner assembly is defective and needs to be replaced), and said he thought the gas smell was normal for this range. If it is normal, I don't like it. But it doesn't seem normal.

Any experience with this?
