Sure, chrome and gold can look good together, but a lot depends on the situation and personal taste. For example, to suit me, the finish would have to match, ie, both glossy or both satin.

What sort of doors are you looking at.

The tile is white and the paint will be an off white as well. I was looking at double sliding doors but the hardware on all of those just seems so clunky. Our toilet is right next to the tub on the same side as the shower head and handles so I will need a three pane glass door where the door opens in the middle in order to have it be practical when bathing kids.

BTW those edison bulbs will be horrible for lighting in a bathroom.

Actually any shower door will be very impractical when bathing kids, and a triple will provide you only a very narrow opening, as well as an awkward approach to turn on and off the water.

I would go with a shower curtain until the kids are bathing on their own.

I was on board with a shower curtain as it's the most practical and least expensive option but unfortunaly my husband is anti shower curtain as he thinks it will cheapen the look of the bathroom.

I've mixed both in the kitchen and don't mind it. Not sure about the bathroom, though. I'm with palimpset. We had those sliding glass doors and it was horrible for bathing kids (and adults).

Patricia, I'm curious why you think Edison bulbs are a poor choice. We have Edison bulbs in two different rooms (bathroom and kitchen). I find they make you look 10 years younger and like you've spent an hour in the sun. I'm always a bit disappointed when I look in another mirror afterwards. They sort of mimic candlelight - very flattering. However, they are also energy guzzlers - not good.
