Comments (9)I agree it would be helpful to know the limitations before making suggestions. Since you mention you cannot paint the walls, I am wondering if other options that will require patching and repainting when the hardware is removed are an option? The suggestion to do inside mount bamboo shades is a good one and would be much easier to patch up when you leave since all the holes would be inside the jam and most likely covered up by the vertical blinds when they are put back when you leave. If you need to leave the verticals there then I suggest doing stationary panels to either side on a decorative rod, but the patching/repainting will then be more extensive. An advantage of the stationary panels is it would be something that is not custom to the window size and you could reuse elsewhere in another home....See MoreLiving room color suggestions
