Reliability of Jenn-air appliances or what brand should I get
Comments (82)Microwave/oven combo installed in new build 2018. "F2" error message July of 2022, so whole unit out of commission. (Homebuilder has same unit, same outcome.) Jenn-air said right off the bat we'd have to wait a while for the replacement control board. Just had yet another contact with them, during which they insist there's been no recall over that part, but they still cannot provide that part (?) and would I like to put us on a list to go to an internal review board, for consideration of a pro-rated replacement unit. My 2 questions: why would we WANT another Jenn-air?? and if they can't cough up the part because of demand ... how is there NOT a recall? I asked if they couldn't "rob" a part off a set in inventory, and the tech acted like he didn't understand the question. So, here we are. Oh, yeah, and on my first contact, I gave them the model number and serial number, and they asked ME for the part #!! How would I know the damn part #???...See MoreDo you like your appliance garage?
Comments (26)Great pictures that have already been posted! I don't have an applaince garage yet, and have appreciated the feedback in this thread so far. I am planning on adding an appliance garage during the remodel. I prefer the look of solid doors, so I'm gettin the "flipper door" hardware installed on regular cabinet doors instead of using the tambour door. I grew up with a kitchen with a corner appliance garage with the tambour door and we used it all the time. The toaster and can opener lived in the garage and we used each of them a few times a day. The only thing that I didn't like about it was that we always left the toaster out for 10-15 minutes after making toast to make sure that it was cool enough to safely put away. It would have been nice to be able to put it away right after making toast. Maybe if the garage were metal lined?...See MoreFinal tweaking process! Huge appliance garage and cabinet heights
Comments (24)Yes, they sit on the counter there. I could probably put filters in the spice cabs...Might be a little shallow for coffee unless I put a smaller amount in a Tupperware container..That might work. I also have concerns about the height of my current coffee maker. It will fit, but will have pull it out some to fill and make sure the steam doesn't wreck the upper cabinets like it has done in my current kitchen! My trash pullout is right on that end of the island, so that would work ok. We're still tweaking the island...Am wondering if I should just go with a rectangle shape instead of the 3 sided one, but I wanted my sink to at least be on an angle to have a better view out the dining room window (large pond out there)which is on the left end of the floor plan. Also am wishing I could have the best of both worlds with part of the snack area raised (for better definition of the kitchen area, beacause everything is so open to living room at bottom of plan and dining room) and part lower for bigger work area--like maybe on the refrigerator side of the island...Boy, this is even confusing me!!...See MoreUse of space: roll-outs vs. drawers, face frames vs. frameless
Comments (5)Alittleapple: This is a 15" cabinet. Angie DIY: A "kiloword." I'm still chuckling. jerzeegirl: Yes, it's InnerMost. We went with the furniture board. We're thinking about more InnerMost cabinets for our bedroom and would do the same. tea4all: Short on storage is the name of the game in our kitchen and why we wanted frameless. debrak_2008: Here's a few. I think if you click on one it will pop up a window for the entire album; I think.: Before (This is one of those true to life photos.): After:...See MoreUser
