OT just to say a quick hi y'all
Comments (8)Gorgeous photos, Chaz! I can't choose a favorite! I am leaning toward the night bloomer, though! Or maybe the red Hibiscus... The form of your night bloomer is unreal! I did not expect it to look quite like that! I had imagined a more cacti-looking form, closely hugging the pot... if you know what I mean! Wow! That's amazing! It's the one plant I really haven't taken the time to closely research... I can see I need to get on that, and learn more! The red Hibiscus is really beautiful! Our local Lowe's has some red flowered ones in large pots, but they're too high priced right now... I thought I'd try to grab one when the price went down a bit... call me cheap! In my gardens, Hibiscus are more the focal plant type, and I really don't have room for another... but I'd make an exception for the red! Your gardens look terrific, Chaz! I'm happy it all worked out good in the end! You guys have done a fabulous job on your yard! I can see all the hard work that went into it, all the stone work, all the pathways, all the planting and choosing of plants... it's a beautiful scene! Plants continue to surprise me with their ability to adapt and survive adverse conditions... most cope pretty well, I find. Notice how the weeds cope even better? LOL! Anyway... I'm happy that you're happy with the end results, and I'm glad I could be a small part of it... don't hesitate to ask for anything else you'd like that I might have... I'm glad to share! Nice job, Chaz! Great photos!...See Moreneed quick tip on tip
Comments (7)I agree with freak4plumeria. I neglected to cover my Singapore trees when Tampa had its first freeze back in December(since then my trees were moved under tents w/sides when there was any forecast of frost). After observing them for about three weeks I thought I had minimal damage...if any. About two weeks later I got a true idea of the damage. Multiple tips started turning slightly black. After that...entire branches were affected especially after temps started warming up. In February I had to heavily pruned my trees to get to the fleshy, milky white part of the branch. The bright side is as a result of the pruning I now have tons of new growth appearing. Because the trees are over fifteen years old I feel confident some of the new growth will produce flowers this season. Keep an eye on your tips!...See MoreOT for grammar people: quick question.
Comments (25)I've always wondered when the word "disrespect" became a verb? Wasn't baby Bush also responsible for "misinformation" rather than calling it what it is: a BIG FAT LIE? It's funny how basic speech can be used to the point where only someone with competent deductive understanding can "get" what you say? I work with a whole lot of gutter snipes in what's supposed to be a 4-star restaurant. The black bras under white oxford shirts was hard enough for the management to address. Then the thongs would pop out over the waist bands when these [ahem] ladies squatted to pick something up. Yes, squat. The other day several were going on loudly about, well, sex. How someone was [how do I say this?] sexing someone else when they should be sexing themselves. This included all kinds of gestures, pelvic thrusts, double and triple negatives, and (stop me) so on. I picked up my stuff and as I walked by I said, "Girls, no one would ever accuse you of being ladies now, would they?" One person laughed out loud and walked away. It took a good long discussion for the other four, a lot of head shaking, a lot of posturing, then one by one a few heads turned towards me in the dining room. "Whatchu mean bydat?"...See MoreQuick question....do I tip for fridge and range installation?
Comments (3)Did they do their job, or did they really try and make you a happy customer? Did they go beyond what should normally be expected? Little things that make a small but significant difference, either in looks or performance? Answer those questions, and then you'll have your answer. I'm not a big one for just tipping because someone did their job. I AM, however, a big one on recognizing the efforts of someone taking pride in their work and giving the extra effort to give a job well done and in turn, make for a happily impressed customer. In response to holligator's post, I'll say what I've said to all these tipping posts-- when I was on payroll, a 20.00 tip meant more to me than 100.00 in the check, because to me that was recognition for a job well done. The check was my pay....See Morelindac92
