Ceiling & Room Height vs cabinet height
Comments (8)Thank you both for chiming in! It seems OK in my brain, but the house isn't built yet, so it's hard (even with design software) to truly appreciate the space. We are trying to fit full size fridge, full size freezer, slide in range, dishwasher, microwave and trash pullout into the space, plus an accessible sink, so there isnt much space left for items in the lower cabs, so putting in as many uppers as possible seems the better option to me. We could possibly put in a tray ceiling, or some sort of soffit around the top, but that seems wasteful. I do love crown, Mags438 - do you have any pics of your kitchen? I'd love to see it. Comments (3)What are you planning to do with this space you are creating, I have no idea how you will get rid of the header , there will have to be support somewhere . I agree a 9 - 10’ ceiling in such a large space is a good idea. That is a huge space to work with . I have a pretty big LR that can seat 10 comfortably your will be almost 3 x that size so consider sound and use of space and the extra cost of new HVAC all to get a better view hope it makes real sense. I would just add more windows or doors along the wall where the view is ....See Moreceiling height is 10ft and room is 14x20. ceiling light help!

Your ceiling is 10’ high, so, I don’t think you would get the effect of your inspiration photo.
