Cost of bathroom tile jobs, help
Comments (3)For "just tiling and grout" I'm sure you could find a low end around $6 a foot just for labor. More typical for a basic installation by a quality installer would be $8. The high can be anything depending on the complexity and size of tile used, the pattern, etc. $20, $30, $70 a square foot. Standard 3-wall tub surrounds are in the 60+/- sqft range....See MoreTile most of the bathroom or tile the entire bathroom?
Comments (17)Sumod- The medicine cabinets are simple wood frames with a cabinet-grade plywood back that just sit in the stud cavity. Because of the dimensions, the front of the frame projects about 1"+ beyond the finished wall. The medicine cabinet doors are also plywood with veneered edges and they are attached to the frame with standard cabinet hinges (Euro hinges). The mirrors are just 1/4" plate glass ordered to size from a glass shop and held in place with mirror mastic and a metal strip at the bottom that you don't really see. The guy who did the cabinets just made the medicine cabinets as part of the job. I don't know about the door brand...we live in a large metro area that has lots of door shops and the doors are just solid core maple doors with the center cut out and a maple panel held in with molding. They're not stained; they simply have a couple coats of clear spray lacquer....See MoreBathroom Tile Job done right, or not?
Comments (13)Not all ciontractors are tile setters for sure usually a good tile setter makes those slivers where your eye doesnot go first which is usuallt the corners and for sure the tiles need to line up . That needs a redo now.BTW when the tiles are removed chances are the waterproofing will be affected ....See MoreBathroom tile job looks sloppy- need feedback please!
Comments (6)There's a lot going on where the shower meets the wall and the baseboard. I am not sure if there would have been a much more elegant solution as these things are not in the same plane and you have to deal with a little jut out here and a little jut out there. The trim guys finished that nicely (needs al little caulk) but they mitered your trim. I think in total - it looks fairly good, to be honest....See MoreMike Dempsey
