Interior paint finish for new home?
Comments (11)I would say it depends on the quality of your paint. BM Aura has a new matte finish for kitchens and baths, so if you're after a velvety flat look, you can still get it even in greasy, humid areas. In general, I use eggshell for living areas and bedrooms and pearl or satin in kitchens and baths with satin or semigloss for all trim. But, I live in an older home with some visible drywall seams, nail pops, and miscellaneous "wall boogers". If you have perfect walls and trim, you can get away with more sheen if you want. Flat is good if you know you're going to have to touch up paint frequently or for ceilings....See MoreNeed help picking up the right paint color for my brand new house

Comments (3)IMO blue/ grays are hard to work with if i have a client that has to paint before a house is completed i highly reccomend a pale grayed green it is much more neutral than gray and seems to work with everything. Sea Salt from Sherwin Williams is a good color it is not the same as BM sea salt....See MoreNeed advice on interior paint color for entire house....
Comments (4)Lyfia, Thanks for your response! Our paint is worn in spots and I do want to do some minimal redecorating....take down my Tuscan style draperies (beautiful but dated) change out gold carpet..add some new colors to my brown living room furniture. I was planning to paint the ceiling white(mostly normal height ceiling)to add some height. I was also planning to paint my trim(baseboards and doors, no crown molding in any room except the two coffered rooms) a low sheen white. My trim now is a mustard color(sounds weird but is actually pretty) I'm trying to the most bang for my buck and not completely redo everything! Guess I need a miracle color:)...See MoreKathy Furt
