I'm trying really hard to bring the room together with these different finishes and hadn't thought too much about the varieties of "silvers"...meaning chrome versus nickel versus stainless and that kind of thing. Funny you mention getting a cabinet made....I went to a place today where they can do exactly that, so we'll see where all this ends up. I NEVER thought that a tiny little powder room, that I have been dying to remodel for 25 years, would be so stressful! It helps to have genuine feedback from people like you...thanks again.

I am building a new house and will have an open concept kitchen living area with an island in the middle of the room. Every time some suggests to a poster here on the forum that they need to hire a color designer to help with their project it annoys me. Because if that was an option, the OP probably wouldn't be posting on the forum asking for help. But sometimes it really is the best advice. And your situation is a good example because you are aware that color coordination is a challenge for you and you are in the process of color selection for a new build. This is the best time to have a color pro help you so you avoid making expensive, regrettable color choices. Get some help now so they can help with all the material and paint color decisions.

@cat_ky, it's in the design phase and nothing is built. It's a new home that hasn't started yet. So I don't have a photos to share.

Would you consider replacing the sink top? It would really open up your options. I saw some HGTV show ages ago where the designer said pick something you love (a ring, Thai soup with basil, whatever) and use that as your inspiration pallette. Dorky. But it has helped me get started. Do you have a photo, artwork, object, etc that could be your jumping off point?
