Convection steam + single oven, or double oven???
Comments (8)I have never missed double ovens. I love my combi oven, and encourage you to get it, assuming you cook and are adventurous with something new! I only use my other oven about 6-10 times/year, seriously. The space in my Gagg combi is enough to cook any meats, gratins, egg dishes, brownies, cookies, pies, cakes, etc. Because it heats up so quickly, I hardly ever use my large oven (except for big gatherings and holiday baking). I wanted to pair mine with a wall oven (I also had a history of double 30" wall ovens), but at the time there was not a 30" wall oven that looked good stacked with it, so I opted for a range and combi is alone in the wall. Good luck in your selections!...See MoreDouble Oven or CSO/Single Oven??
Comments (9)If you are not planning to use a micro regularly then I would strongly suggest a speed oven as well instead of a warming drawer. I rarely use a microwave and we went with Miele M Touch Wall oven, the CSO and the speed oven. I use the speed oven more as a conventional oven then a micro. It also has a broiler element. I have used the combi mode once as Speed cooking is not a priority for me at this point. I use all three ovens simultaneously far more often than I expected. Like others in the thread - the CSO is my work horse as it is very versatile .I can fit all of my baking dishes in the CSO and Speed oven except for a 1/2 sheet pan. I chose Miele over wolf as the M series was not yet available and wolf did not have a speed oven in their product line. Very happy with all Miele ovens. The 30" wall oven is very quiet which according to another thread is not the case with the Wolf M series. If you decide to go with two 30" ovens - the Miele side by side stacked with a CSO and Speed oven would look dynamite. I have the Wolf 36" induction with the 4 way bridge. I found my griddle is wider than a 2 element bridge and I use the 4 way bridge for my griddle. It heats extremely well. If you can test drive the cooktops - I would suggest doing that. I found differences in pot size recognition. I don't think you would go wrong with either Miele or Wolf....See MoreFitting steam oven & conv. oven or speed oven in existing space
Comments (0)I own a double TurboChef wall oven that has gone kaput. I loved it while it was working, but now parts will no longer be available, so have to face a replacement. I also have a 48" Bluestar so I do have quite a bit regular oven space. I'd like to make the replacement as painless as possible and I'd like to get a steam oven. I would consider a double oven with steam oven or two single ovens---steam and speed. The cutout is 28.5 wide and 48.875 high, 24" deep. The Thermador double steam/convection is 48 1/8" and I like the style available that isn't so sleek. There is a Bosch that is very close to the height but doesn't get very good reviews. Alternative would be getting two single ovens. What would be involved if I choose to do this? How much space between the two ovens is needed? It seems more complicated. Any similar experience with this type of replacement is most appreciated....See MoreSteam oven, speed oven or just double oven opinion
Comments (13)Not sure what poster above is saying about hating a steam oven? I would ask her exactly what model she owns. Most people that make comments like that don't own that particular thing/appliance!! And why get a steam oven only, when you can get a convection/steam oven and have perfect baking and steaming. Were you asking me about using the steam function? I can only speak for my Miele CSO experience. Of course, there is a learning curve when using a new appliance. You overcook something the first time and then adjust the timing the second time around. No different than with any other appliance. Even microwaves can vary quite a bit in their power and you have to make adjustments. Lots of info on the Miele CSO in the Kitchen forum. Those of us who have the units, really like them and usually say it is the last appliance we would be willing to give up....See MoreDrB477
