Stool recommendation for kitchen island?

Looking for some ideas on the style/materials/color for kitchen island stools. Below are a couple photos of the kitchen, from the listing.

We now have a dark brown/black table with white leather chairs (dark legs) in the eat-in kitchen area you see in one of the photos.

Not really sure I want red/orange chairs like in the photo (previous owners), so looking for other ideas. The granite counter tops have some pinkish swirls.

Hi there-

I think one of our stools in a neutral hue would provide the perfect seating on this kitchen island. Simple neutral hues in textures while also keeping it simple enough to let your marbling and the beautiful cabinets do the talking. Here are my various top picks:

IMO counter stools should always be swivel unless you really don’t care about scratches on the floor and I do not think any of the stools above look the least bit comfortable.Please get rid of the giant clock , how many clocks do you need in a kitchen area.

24" minimum is the general rule. If you have legs or corbels on the ends of your island, you'll need more than 24" to allow more space for a body to get in and out of a stool. Mock it up at your kitchen table and see how it feels. How deep are you planning your overhang?

I do think a back is important, if you eat every meal at the island. I also think a padded seat is important. We have the Ballard Marcello stools and they are quite nice, do COM and are made in the US. The back just peaks over the top of the island. Ballard has some other counter stools with swivel that might work as well. I like the Marguerite but the color probably is not the best for your woods. The back is low and won't get in way of your guests. Link: Marguerite

Jared, no. sorry to say I've had that pic saved for awhile and cannot remember the source. I've looked around for them but cannot find them. I know they are Walnut, so try starting w/ 'walnut island chairs' and see what you get. I don't like the barber type of stool w/your kitchen. those are too modern w/the chrome for your style.

We have 4 upholstered room and board cora swivel chairs that have held up really well with a cat, dog, and lots of use (plus one move). Swivel was great for our set up that sounds similar to yours. I wanted to get their leather versions but we couldn't swing the expense in the cora style, but I'm pleasantly surprised how well the fabric versions have held up. The one slightly (but not very negative) thing about the fabric is that pet & human hairs seem to cling to it altho I might be the only one who notices. The legs show no wear and tear whatsoever despite banging around them with a vacuum, and we sit there so often that I would've expected more scuff marks and whatnot.

Patricia - I noted in my original post that the pictures are from the listing. The clock, like most items, were taken by the previous owners.
