What color of kitchen cabinets go best with hickory floors?
Comments (1)Hickery can be very busy so I think I would go for something that showed very little grain like a maple. maybe forget the glaze. A dark cherry perhaps would be a good contrast with little grain. Dark maple island with maple cabinets. That sounds a little busy too but I'm just throwing things out there....See MoreWhat color cabinets would go nicely in my kitchen?
Comments (12)Since you don't have a style in mind I think you might want to go to your local Home Depot or Lowe's and look at the cabinet samples they have and see what appeals to you as far as style and finish. Bring an extra floor tile and sample of the paint to compare. Also a great place to look at your counter top and backsplash choices too....See MoreBar stools to go with discontinued kitchen chairs?
Comments (7)The house is a 50s ranch with some MCMness but nothing cool. :) The kitchen itself probably goes a little more midcentury with slab walnut cabinets and gray slate floor, but there's nothing especially atomic about it. Painted wood really wouldn't go, I don't think. A few of the MCM reissues in walnut or cherry might look good enough with everything else to not have to match the chairs but I don't know if I can bring myself to spend $1500-plus for a bar stool. I do want something with a back, which makes it harder. But now that I think about it, if I don't plan on sitting there, it doesn't have to be that comfortable... I almost like this for other people to sit on:...See Moreburgundy leather couches-what color chairs would go with them
Comments (2)Have you considered a small print with some burgundy, taupe, and maybe black as well if that appears anywhere else in the room? Many prints read as solid from a distance but will add variety and may be more cohesive than a second solid color...See Moregm_tx
