Its that time again folks. The Boys brought report cards home today. Both made all A's.
As a reminder Chip is in 1'st grade regular classes until next year. Tim is in 4'th in advanced/gifted classes.
I can't tell you how proud I am of these two extraordinary boys. In my heart I know these two are going to make it...as in continue enjoying and thriving everything new they face. I see a wonderful and fruitful future for them.
They have faced much heartache as youngsters...mother walked out on them when Tim was 2&1/2 and Chip 9 months to never show her face again. Daddy became too sick to care for them although he sees them almost daily...yet they always have happy smiles enjoying life. I surely did something for God to have Blessed me.

Comments (3)Oh my...what a heart touching story. I loved school too, but until I went into the 6th grade I walked to school. We lived about a mile from it. I cried at the end of the school year every single year until I graduated from high school. But Mama never made fun of me for crying, she just never understood why I would cry when school was over for the year. I even cried when I graduated from college..sheesh!!! Comments (10)seniorgal, I love reading your posts! Although I'm a wee bit younger, I experienced something similar to you. I went to an all girls' Catholic school called St. Mary's Academy that was founded in 1864. It had boarders and local day student girls as well, but everyone wore uniforms. I was a local day student and attended there for my first year of High School. But when I was in grade 10, we were told the school would be closing, after the end of the school year, due to not enough funds to keep it running. It was such a beautiful school and it was so sad to see it being demolished after 107 years! The girls from St. Mary's were then transferred to the local all boy's school, Assumption College School, which was a Catholic boarding school that also had local boys as day students, and was run by Basilian Fathers. We were the very first girls to join the school, making it Co-Ed after it had been an all boys school for 101 years. The boys were thrilled to have us, but the priests made it clear we were not a welcome addition. It probably took them the better part of my first year there to accept that their traditions had to change a bit to accommodate girls. Some of the nuns who had taught us at St. Mary's joined the teaching staff at Assumption, so we did have some familiar faces among the teaching staff. I did enjoy my time at both schools, but still find it sad when beautiful historical buildings are demolished, due to lack of funding. Comments (9)I hate watching wrestling...Jeff used to wrestle...Now Jeff is helping coach at the high school I went to. He said two of his boys have neck injuries and are out...I is scary to watch. Also one meet we went to when Jeff was wrestling , we all heard a loud POP...and this kids arm was just dangling. I know Nate is good at what he's doing but it is still scary. And he keeps good grades...So does his sister who is a junior...she has a 4.0 Don't know what Nate's is...and lil sis struggles...she is the one who vision in one eye was 20/300 at one time...It is much better now but still not the best...She is the youngest (13) and is the tallest of the bunch...and she is a basketball player...and softball...She loves those sports. He had two older sisters who had already got married and moved by they time I first met him in the fourth grade. He got married just out of high school with a baby already on the way, while I set off for Ohio State University, relishing the opportunity to reinvent myself and be lost in the crowd after growing up in a small town with a small school. So partly it was different life trajectories and partly it was me stepping away from ties to my hometown and who I was, to make a better me. I think it is mostly the unexpected shock of his sudden death that has me rattled, that and the realization that he was such a good friend, for so long and I couldn't be bothered to make any effort to reconnect, and now he's gone. His service is planned for this Friday, in Cincinnati, nine hours drive away. Even if it were closer, I don't know whether I would attend -- would I even know anyone? What could I possibly say? Friends of the family have set up a donation form to help them cover some of the "costly expenses that a death brings" It notes that "he is survived by his two children, Jessica and Tyler; his fiancé Natasha and two sisters." A fiance -- that sound so hopeful and forward looking that this is all the more heart-wrenching. I may change my mind and drive out for the service, but in any case I'm planning on donating through the form, but I'm trying to figure out what to say....See More
