Anna yes, IF there is a light source inside the house. I have large dining room windows that can be seen through the side light if you place your face right up to it, but if the dining room curtains are shut you cannot see in. At night, the mirror effect reverses so you need something for privacy. My front window doesn't have another window behind it, and people cannot see in even with their face pressed against the glass....if my lights are off. During the day, only a tiny bit of my chandelier shows through the film (when on) , but nothing else of the room shows. I really love this film BUT it doesn't let any sun rays through that house plants need, so don't plan on growing any sun loving plants by these windows.

The door and sidelights are ugly. No idea what would have been your "inspiration" from the photo. Would need to see a proper exterior photo to comment further. But... that is off topic, and you did not ask for feedback on the design, only the privacy aspect of the glass. Quite specific.

Hey There: You can install minimalistic light filtering bottom-up top-down shades to the door. This allows for light coming in the home but still gives you full privacy... This is a great way to manage light and privacy without having to block the light all year round.

I actually used that exact brand and glass knob on my exterior french doors, but they're from the bedroom to the back. this is about 4 years later. interior is still fine. I will say, this matte black finish doesn't hold up very well on the exterior. you can see from the photo how the finish has 'faded' or grayed? The door knob itself is fine. (and I don't get freezing weather)
