Murraysmom, your squirrel reminds me of the squirrel that frequented our birdfeeders several years ago. He got his tail caught under the wire hook from which one of the feeders hung. He was really stuck. When DH tried to free him, the squirrel was so panicked that in his effort to escape, he ripped off about 3/4 his tail. "Stumpy" still came to the feeders for some time after that.

I don't recall having ever seen a Golden Digger Wasp, even though they have been recorded near here. Or maybe I just never have gotten a close enough look at one to id it. I'll keep an eye out, now that I know the id points to notice!

Nicole - That baby is my beloved Willow. My dog found him burrowed in deep grass near a stream in a remote area while out for a walk. I'm amazed he survived the hard frost that night. He was so tiny, (fit in my hand) very cold and infested with fleas. I fed him replacement milk along with Missing Link and bathed him numerous times to eliminate the fleas. He is the apple of my eye!
