Try a taller harp - looks a bit low.

It seems to match the white ish colour in your lamp itself. What other colours are in your rooms? If there are warm colours you could grab the peachy colour out of the lamp for a lampshade. To me there are more warm colours in the lamp and I'm almost inclined to say you need a warmer color in the shade. Or maybe I just like warmer colours :-).

As far as the shade size goes it seems okay to me. Though it could be a bit more tapered it's not necessary. I agree the material is a little bit less dainty compared to the lamp itself.

And I'm sorry that you are back to not being pleased again almost. I always hoped you would get please to for a while. So enjoyed seeing just fori for a while.

It looks good to me, but then I'm still getting used to the new look of shorter, "higher" shades (which still kind of look like highwater pants to me). Nice lamp!

This lamp doesn't have a harp but maybe I should get one of those harp adapter ring things (technical term). I've been messing with lamp shades recently and have really liked the adjustable height harps.

This shade is sort of a blueish color. It goes with the stems painted on the base but that doesn't make it right.

If the base were 4 inches taller, I think it would be perfect. As it it seems a bit oversized. Not terrible, but the size of the shade takes a bit away from the base.

I also got a huge chuckle out of your name, but wasn't sure if it was new change or whether I'd just been oblivious for a while.

The shade is too large for the lamp and over powers it - look for something smaller circumference at the top and bottom of the shade. I also think the shade is too boxy for the lamp and a more graceful shape shade (possible a soft bell) is in order. And the material seems a bit casual as well. The color might be a match for the stems but I think picking up the background color is a better fit so the shade is not the focus and the lamp is. Other than that - it's perfect !!! ;-) Now you're going to be fori is really PO'd at these suggestions!!

Google ginger jar lamp and see what appeals to you. The shades that flare out are called coolie lamp shades. This one has a definite Asian feel because of the curved sides.

I think that the shade should be about the width of the lamp, not as wide as the one you have. It would make the proportions better. Also, a smooth, not textured shade.

Take your lamp to a local lamp shop and try on a variety of shades! I cannot imagine buying a lampshade any other way!
