Granite and Soapstone together? White granite?
Comments (3)I'm just remodeling my kitchen, and that was my original thought - to mix the soapstone on the perimter with a complementary granite on the island. I was thinking of a whiter granite with grey/black in it. Well as it turns out I need a bit more than one slab for the soapstone for the perimeter countertops - i.e. needed 2 slabs - which would then also do the whole kitchen in soapstone. So it would have been more expensive for me to add the granite in. And, the soapstone itself was so lovely I decided I would like that look better anyway. Just bought it yesterday - Julia :) I also realized it was going to be pretty time-consuming to find an interesting but good contrasting granite - so good luck with your search!...See MoreNeed Help: Delicatus White Antique or Alaska White Granite
Comments (27)CL777, totally understand... your kitchen is not small at all, its bright, airy and open, very nice.. i still think you should bring a sample of your cabs to put up against any stone u choose...it really will help u decide... my advice to you and anyone trying to pick granite is: You will know it when u see it.!!! i did the same thing and looked at least 30 slabs if not more..some i really liked but i just could not pull the trigger, i just didn't LOVE it. and when u are spending that much money, you better love it. .when i saw mine, magma gold/sedna (2 names for same stone), i knew that was it, i did not want to look anymore. the counter guy wanted to take me to another slab yard and I said "nope, this is it"....trust me, u will know!!! another thing i did which really helped me decide is put a incandescent light up against the stone.. you really get the true colors of the stone. with fluorescents you don't.. that's if you are in an indoor slab yard, of course... bring your cab sample, paint sample, floor sample and anything else u have because it will all help u decide!! best of luck, i know its a tough decision :)...See MoreWhite Ice granite - it is creamy, would it work with white cabinets?
Comments (5)That's a really tough call there. You might end up feeling like the countertop looked grungy or dirty next to white cabinets. Any chance you could choose something with more pronounced coloration or darker?...See MoreBacksplash for white ice granite and white shaker cabinets?
Comments (6)I don't mind your flooring so much. however, please wait until the granite is installed before deciding on a backsplash. there is no rush. nothing can be installed until it's in. grab some samples and wait. this one is random linear bar marble if you want the glass bars: (the one in the pic may be from oceanside glass or Lunada bay. here are some others) https://www.fastfloors.com/tile/soho-studio-corp/uptown-sense-railroad/ice/ https://www.mineraltiles.com/random-glass-mosaic-tile-linear-branco/ that tile above is similar to this one. the granite is Alaska White or maybe look at porcelain chevron, or picket tile...See More- 6 years ago
