Need advice on using foam core for framing prints
Comments (4)The best advice is to have a frame shop mount the posters onto foam core for you. I have had desperately bad luck using adhesive foam core, and I am fully qualified to have done better! It isn't terribly expensive, and will save you much frustration. The posters will stay very nice and flat. I definitely would not varnish them (I assume you mean gloss medium), as that would very likely cause them to warp. I don't know why you aren't putting glass in them, but if it is because of the weight, most lumberyards will cut thinnish plexi for you for a reasonably cheap cost, and it is very lightweight....See MoreFramed Kiri Japanese Print 5.5 Inches Above Sofa
Comments (11)Thank you abundantblessings for your post and opinion. I actually like the way the picture looks just where it is since I am less than 5 feet but I was surprised when my neighbor told me he could lean back and hit his head and felt the picture should be moved up. I am going to see where my other friend's head hits who is stopping by tomorrow to see my picture since he is 6 feet tall and maybe that will help me make a decision. My client/friend bought me new hangers that had three small nails the two of them to hold up each side of the picture since the ones that came with the Art.com picture looked not sturdy enough. I will check to see how big the holes it is making are. I really am enjoying having color in the room and can't wait to get a flat screen TV after all my deadlines and professional continuing education classes end since I only have until the end of this year to catch up. I just could not stand living in all beige rooms any longer. . Again thank you! Anyone else with opinions?...See MoreI was wondering how to pick the right width size for framing prints
Comments (2)A good frame shop is invaluable. I would avoid the ones like Michaels etc - they have no eye at all. Find one that might be connected to an art gallery - they will be able to give you excellent assistance....See MoreFraming a print with uneven borders
Comments (5)I work in a custom frame shop most of the week. This is a common question. Like everyone suggested, take it into a reliable frame shop. Usually what we suggest is to come in to the edges on the left and right side, along with the top. Than leave the white showing, where the signature is. Mat with a good fitting color/vibe along with a frame you love. Best of luck, it will look fantastic....See MoreUser
