WANTED: Have Aloe brevifolia and Blue Agave free or trade
Comments (5)I would love to have both plants, but I don't have anything to trade at this time. Having to start over on my flower beds as last year the drought got most everything here. If you could send me your address and also tell me what size of box? Or if you know the shipping charge, I could just send it to you in stamps or cash, your call, that might be easier as I'm not sure how to send you a prepaid box...lol My email address is BerniceNettles@gmail.com Thank you, Bernice...See MoreAgave ID please
Comments (3)Definately not an Aloe or A. americana. Looks more like Agave macroacantha, but unless you are an Agave specialist, a lot of them can be hard to differenciate. Pop onto the C&S Forum and see what they say. Good luck...See Moresucculent id - aloe or agave?

Comments (15)This is the only Agave that I get a reaction from when poked. I get a rash even if brushed by the leaves when walking by. Someone told me the spikes along the leaves have sodium hydroxide crystals in them that are causing my reaction. I don't know if that is true. My neighbor planted 3 in an island in his front yard. Now he regrets it. This one is about 1.5 to 2 feet tall and pupping on runners. Now it is about 4 feet tall. He's getting pups in the yard, too. I still think it is a pretty plant. It just needs too much maintenance that I can't give it. Although . . . I never considered keeping it in a pot. Oh - and our green waste won't take these unless you cut all the fronds off and bundle them. They don't want to be poked by them, but they took my Agave desmettiana (after it bloomed) with no questions asked....See More- 6 years ago
