HVAC decides to blow cold air at random temps..
Comments (5)Wow.. I appologize for the lack of info...lol Well, it is not gas or oil, so I would assume that heat pump would be the accurate term. As for the 78 or 79...that is the degrees that the temperature is in the room, according to the thermostat....not what the thermostat is set to. My wife has a tendency to set it up to the higest number (90) because she seems to be always cold..lol, but when the room reaches the temp of 70 - 78 (even though it doesn't feel like it at all), it blows cold air. It is now starting to blow that cold air when the thermostat says it is 70-73 in the room....See MoreWhy is our furnace be blowing cold air when thrm is set to heat?
Comments (4)It is very possible that your filters were dirty and/or restrictive, thus reducing air flow. When this happens, temperature inside the furnace may rise to an unsafe level. Then, the burner turns off and the fan runs to cool everything down. This is a safety feature. What type of filters are you using and where are they located? Some pleated filters (Filtrete, 3M)can be restrictive. V...See Moreheater fan runs for 12 hours and blows out cold air
Comments (3)Its a Trane heater/air conditioner. The whole thing is under warrenty. I live in SJ. I own. When it gets cold outside (below 20 degrees) the vents blow out cold air. The air does not shut off like it normally would when it reaches temperature. I turned on the emergency heat and it was still blowing out cold air. It all depends on the coldness outside - something isnt right. The installer said it needs more electricity between the heater and my apartment. (The heater is downstairs - outside). I live on the 2nd floor. I was told this unit is too big for what i need and thats why i need more electricity. My old heater was very old - but I never had this problem... thanks for any help...See MoreQuestion about Furnace (blowing cold air)
Comments (1)Nevermind....It seems that some damn bum that had come to the door earlier this evening had turned off the gas flow to the unit. That's the only possible explanation that I can think of for the gas line to have been turned off....See Moretigerdunes
