Yes, I am definitely considering a pedestal sink. Or a wall mounted sink. I'm open to a corner sink, or against either wall.

I am more concerned about the toilet. Anyone taller than about 5'-6" currently can touch the wall with their knees when sitting down. I'm wondering if a corner toilet or turning the toilet 90 degrees would be better, both aesthetically and financially.

I think if you could turn the toilet to face the sink and move the pedestal or wallmount sink to the closet wall, it would work better. If possible, maybe you could switch the door to open out into the hall.

I don't think the door opening into the hall would be a good idea, and the wall is too short for a pocket door.

I just can't decide which would be most practical, both functionally and fiscally.

I like 1 or 3, depending on sink size. #1 may be best, as it tucks the toilet away and makes the sink with a pretty mirror or medicine cabinet the centerpiece. It will only need a slight plumbing rearrangement.

Are both the walls too short for a pocket door? I'm wondering mostly about that closet wall and what's beyond.

I like number 2, but maybe 1 could work with a small wall sink, like one I found at Wayfair. Small sink. It is under 10 inches from front to back. You’d want the toilet center about 16 to 17 inches from the duct wall.

If you don’t need a coat closet, you could use that space. Can you add a coat closet to the left of the front door? I wonder if you could add a smaller coat closer where the toilet is now, accessed from the family room. That would give you a nice sized powder room.

if you can do an out swing door or pocket door, maybe you could switch the sink and toilet. Or you could do a wall hung toilet or a shorter toilet. (Toto drake round bowl) where the sink is now (as long as the door clears the toilet)

The only other solution would be if it was possible is to steal 12 inches from your garage. You need a minimum of 24 inches in front of the toilet, but 27 is better and 30 inches is best.

I love the idea of moving the closet next to the garage door! That would likely be much more useful and would allow for a reasonably sized powder room. Now we just need to figure out how much it will cost.

Looks good. Make sure the closet is deep enough for heavy coats if you use them.

The closet would be 3'-6" x 2'-0" deep, so 1'-4" shorter than we have now, but just as deep. Thank you again!
