If there was a song title, or line in a song that was your life
Comments (26)often on my way to work i'll play talking heads and i'll laugh myself all the way there w/ this... i'm on the road to nowhere (LOL) WELL WE KNOW WHERE WE'RE GOIN' BUT WE DON'T KNOW WHERE WE'VE BEEN AND WE KNOW WHAT WE'RE KNOWIN' BUT WE CAN'T SAY WHAT WE'VE SEEN AND WE'RE NOT LITTLE CHILDREN AND WE KNOW WHAT WE WANT AND THE FUTURE IS CERTAIN GIVE US TIME TO WORK IT OUT We're on a road to nowhere Come on inside Takin' that ride to nowhere We'll take that ride I'm feelin' okay this mornin' And you know, We're on the road to paradise Here we go, here we go CHORUS Maybe you wonder where you are I don't care Here is where time is on our side Take you there...take you there We're on a road to nowhere We're on a road to nowhere We're on a road to nowhere There's a city in my mind Come along and take that ride and it's all right, baby, it's all right And it's very far away But it's growing day by day And it's all right, baby, it's all right They can tell you what to do But they'll make a fool of you And it's all right, baby, it's all right We're on a road to nowhere i'm an 80's child, extremely well educated, working in a job where i'm well paid but utilize very little of my knowledge and feel like i'm going nowhere fast...lol but atleast well paid lol. it's part of a bigger plan for my life... another fav is sinatra's the best is yet to come. it was the last song at both of our wedding receptions. it represents to me that even thou i've have a fabulous life so far there is even more fabulous thigs still ahead. i absolutely worship music and have tons of songs that have meaning for something in my past or life now that i relate to all the time :-) ~ liz...See MoreWhat is a mistake you made in your life that you can't take back?
Comments (40)Overall I'm pretty satisfied wth my life. I've been married 28 years, it isn't perfect but I'd never consider leaving. I have 3 great grown kids and a great grandson. He has my first name as his middle name and a finer honor I've never had bestown upon me. I've made a ton of mistakes but what I have to share are two mistakes that I can't believe I DIDN'T make, if you follow my drift. #1 I was never a ladies man. I dated but either I was interested an she wasn't, or the other way around. Shortly after a bad breakup I was introduced to a girl by a mutual friend. Sill in mourning I didn't pursue her. I ran into her again 6 months later, still nothing from me. Some time after that while at a wedding where I was an usher she showed up - without a date. I realized that three times now we had crossed paths, too many to be a coincidence. I woke up and asked for her number. You've guessed by now it's my wife. #2: I was drafted during the Vietnam War (BTW Friday is Veteran's Day!) I trained as a medic; behind the scenes, not the kind that goes on patrol and gets shot at. I and another guy with the same job got orders after training. Mine was for Vietnam, his was to stay right where we were in MD. He offered to trade orders with me but I turned him down. I wouldn't trade the memories of the good work we did in our hospital or the friends I made for the world!...See MoreWhat is your favorite way to live in the moment?
Comments (24)It is easy here in the norther tier of the US in the winter months to feel sessions of depression etc, but since I have had my vit D level checked and found it was low and taking extra it really makes a difference, but then I like cold weather. I love being outside, working on my hobbies, being with some people especially in my women's Bible group, being with my kids, grandkids and now with the 4 great grandkids, and yes, shopping by myself, even if I don't buy anything. Just watching people. In CA I loved to go outside as we had 5 acres in the mountains and in the sping seeing all the new baby quail, and other animals. So quiet so calming And yes, every morning I try to remember to say Hi to Jesus and ask for help for the day. Hope this finds you in a better mood and more postive spirits. Comments (32)"Art is one of the few things DH likes to "shop" for"-how similar..and how lucky I must say, as most of our art was also found while traveling together, and oh, each time is so wonderful..frankly wonderful whether we actually can buy something or not. I still remember everyhing we admired together but couldn't afford..and yes we both regret things we could afford but didn't buy..:) and yes, art, ceramics, netsuke-yes I simply need them in my life. Add books to that too. My DH is an extremely savvy person-yet he'll never say "no" to a book..he understands this. Do I feel guilty? no, not at all if I'm up and leave again-that's what I'll take with me, after all..Well besides my husband:) and kids if they'll want to.. one smart person-actually my boss, one of several..I was blessed with very smart work supervisors all my professional life...he said "The feeling of home comes from these very things you don't exactly need to survive" There are levels of need..and the basics, we all know them, and they should be there since without them it's obviously really hard to strive for something else. Even just wanting, dreaming, wishing for, admiring-you already have something extremely important. You might not realize it until you don't.. You might meet people that don't have it. They don't have it. Sometimes not at the moment, sometimes not for years. They're so deeply buried inside, so hurt, that outside doesn't touch them. It's not how we're intended to be. It's awfully sad. It's also extremely scary when one doesn't feel himself..as somebody existing and separate you know?.. you're also not exactly into wishing for things while in that state.. so, yes, in my mind -even to want to buy somethiing you "simply need in your life", it's a blessing..it's a star in the sky..it seems so little amongst other stars, you don't know its name and its meaning..but the meaning is actually there and it's huge..you're alive, you're connected, and you want to continue to be....See Morenicole___
