It is hard to know if you have a sport or one of those strange flowers that can occur this time of year. Is it the same color as Mary Rose? This rose has been known to sport a lot. Can you describe it? I am not sure whether there is a single rose that has sported from Mary Rose and gone on to receive a patent or not. Perhaps, one of the Paul's will let us know, but for some reason I was thinking there is one. But then I don't recall a name so I am hoping either Cass or one of the Pauls can answer this question for you. If not, get in touch with David Austin.com and see if there is a chance. I would (for now) leave it as it is and investigate. Tie a string around that cane so you can identify it when not in bloom. Then you can try rooting it if you feel you want to at a later time, perhaps soon, if you like.

Redoute is a very pretty colour; glows like fine porcelain- I have two! Although very happy with it the second was kinda accidental- bought a bare root Sharifa Asma (also supposed to be a compact grower) which I'm pretty sure is actually Redoute, as its now got a branch that has unaccountably dark pink Mary Rose coloured flowers on it. I'm assuming its sporting back. Other ones you could look at are Mary Magdalene ( give her a sniff test first -she has a distinct Myrhh scent which I quite like, a lot of people don't ) and Charles Rennie Mackintosh- Its the middle of winter here, and I just got a flower from MM. Theres also Charlotte, although I havent quite warmed to that one..pretty flowers, but not quite enough of them on my version. Prospero? He may like it warmer than your zone to be happy enough to flower a lot. You could look at which ones David Austin site recommends for being good in pots- they tend to stay fairly compact.

Marie, what an array of blooms. A spectacular show. You must be so pleased with their performance. I will not even start to list my favorites or which ones I would love to have, as I would need to make quite a substantial order to match these. One of my all time favorites is " Diamond Ring " for it's bloom & leaves (unbelieveable). Rick

I hang out in Facebook group "Fragrant gardens", the founder of that group is Khalid who used to post with me in Organic rose forum. His Mary rose is grafted and it's the most compact & beautiful bush among Austins. I see Thai basil growing next to your Mary rose. I love that herb, I use that in my VN cooking. Also Lady Emma Hamilton likes it alkaline, it does well for a dry & alkaline Arizona rose grower.
