Should I return this amaryllis bulb or keep it?

I just purchased this Flamenco Queen amaryllis yesterday. I'm having a good look at it because last year I bought an amaryllis only to find out that it was diseased. By that time I had lost the bill. So this time I figured I be smarter and have a better look at the bulb. That's what I am supposed to do, right?

Since I have very little experience growing amaryllis, I am hoping that someone will help me out.

What do you think of the roots? Are the smaller dry roots dead, and therefore, should be removed?

The bulb seems damaged to me or rotting on the side? I think the flower bud is partially damaged too.

If I can return this bulb, should I? Is that what you would do? Here are pictures:

I removed some of the dried skin to reveal this.

Thanks for any help!
