Car Stereo Help.

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me here. I have a 1990 Pontiac Bonneville LE that I replaced the dead cassette player with a JVC KD-SR72 stereo. Everything was working great until I had a new battery put in the car. Afterwards the radio will intermittently turn off and reset to new. It can happen anywhere from once a week to once a month. Sometimes it comes back on and other times it'll be completely dead for 20 minutes then turn back on. The clock also hasn't been keeping time. It never did this before the new battery was put in. I checked both fuses and replaced them (one under steering column, one in back of radio), I double checked the wiring and redid it just in case, checked battery connections which are clean and tight and still does it. As said before it never did this and the clock kept time before replacing the battery.
