What ceiling white with Antique White kitchen cabinets
I have SW Antique White upper cabinets with some reaching the ceiling with the crown molding.
As you can see, it's not as yellowish like some Antique Whites can be
The walls will be SW Contented, some I painted already to test it you can see on the top right corner.
We want to paint the ceiling once the electric is finished and before the floors and cabinets go in.
It's a 9 foot ceiling with Southern exposure the whole back of the house so it's a bright kitchen during the day with no lights on.
The floors will be wood look tiles

Was trying not to go bright white, but since my upper cabinets will be Antique White, do I need a white that blends with it or contrasts with it?
Maybe SW Ivory lace, Dover White, Creamy or others. Don't want one with pink or blue undertones :)

6 years agolast modified: 6 years agowe will be installing higher baseboard than what we have now and eventually carry that same height through the rest of the 1st floor. So have to choose a white paint for that too :)
Our foyer right off the kitchen, the living and dining room have the bottom half of the walls with trim white. It's been 15 years since I painted that so will have to paint that as well. This is how the rooms are laid out

Comments (11)I'm painting my cabinets ivory white. It's a beautiful color. I'm putting on my third (yes, third) coat tonight. I'm spraying them, though. The people at Fine Paints said I should do three coats. I found out about the color through Home Beautiful in one of their colors that designers use. Alexa hampton said she loved the color and her father used it too. I love both of their styles, so I tried it out. It really is beautiful. I did consider, btw, Pratt and Lambert's seed pearl. It is somewhat similar. And gorgeous too, I think i read that Victoria Hagan promotes seed pearl. I've inserted an exerpt from Washington post about ivory white.... Q. Comments (14)@eam44, thanks. I probably wasn't very clear with what I was actually looking for. I was just trying to figure out if we should change to stainless steel appliances for the double oven and dishwasher etc, even though I already have the white ice fridge that's just a year old and just plan to replace it down the road at some point. Does't seem like it matters any more since we got the very upsetting news that after cashing our very large check 3 weeks ago our contractor has not only NOT ordered our cabinets, but that he's in arrears with the cabinet company for a substantial amount already and so they won't be ordering any cabinets for us until he gets his account in order and we don't know what that means for us at the moment. We've used this GC before on big projects, without an issue but it seems that something is very off as he's been leading us to believe they were ordered all this time and then promising he was straightening it out and going to pay Friday first thing, but didn't do it. Now he says he's going this morning to take care of it. He was supposed to be starting here today on structural work. Sorry to go on, but I'm just so upset about this. Comments (4)Those white tiles are definitely too white for your cabinets. There are tons of tile options out there -- keep looking until you find the right warm white one. Comments (6)I probably would stay away from bright white walls, which may only serve to make cabinetry appear dirty. Who chose the cabinetry color? Nobody can advise minus a photo, and any decision will be affected by light and exposure in the home. I hope you have seen all your elements chosen, WITH said cabinet tone. In person. 6 years agoDecided on SW Dover White in a matte for the ceilings, and the same color white for any door trim. The floor is going in now :)

The lighting isn't the greatest with these photos so I did a few in different rooms (have two bedrooms and one bath in this combo) the walls are SW Antique white, molding SW Dover White and the ceiling is Behr 1873 Off White in flat.

If you don't like the Off White the Dover works. I just don't personally like white white ceilings so picked this combo.
