How to store cookies with no freezer or refrigerator space?

We had early family Christmas yesterday. My guests did not take home as many cookies as usual.

I know I will be happy to have these in, say, March: but right now it’s too much of a good thing. My husband does not eat cookies or sweets of any kind. The cookies in question are all spritz.

Our refrigerator is not large, an additional garage refrigerator died a month or so ago, and we two empty nesters are not planning to replace it.

So I would appreciate advice on how to keep them fresh (ish).

I could store them in tins.

I could wrap in plastic first, then put in tins, then wrap those in plastic.

I could put above wrapped tins in the attached garage where it will be colder than the house during the winter, hoping critters cannot smell cookies through plastic and metal.

Thanks for your suggestions.
