Self-Clean Issues on new series KitchenAid?
Comments (9)I have the ovens you are interested in. They work very well and have not given any trouble. I have posted about them previously. In fact this is my second set. We built a new home and reselected the same Kitchenaid appliances that I had in our former place. My old oven was fine too. They are simple to use, have very accurate temperatures, produce nicely baked, roasted, broiled foods. The self-clean function has worked fine through many cycles. The microwave is especially nice with the drop-down door. It works well also. The styling of the Kitchenaid in my opinion is much better than other combination units. There is a minimum of grillwork, trim and air vents that create unsightly gaps around the doors & control panel. The oven comes with a good 5 year warranty. Since reading about all the self clean problems, I ran a cycle within a few weeks of use. Again all was well. Just like my previous oven. I can guarantee you I'd be on the phone with the CEO's office at Whirlpool in a heartbeat if I had any trouble!...See MoreIssue with new cabinet doors/drawer fronts
Comments (11)I agree with the others. Not only is the paint job poor, but the cabinets themselves are bottom quality. But did you see cabinet samples before contracting for this work? If not, you effectively approved them by omission, by sight-unseen. If that's the case, the burden of replacement is on you, not the contractor. Let us know what agreement you had with the contractor before installation regarding the cabinets. If you saw beautifully painted cabinets as examples of the contractor's work then that is what he needs to provide, and the replacement is on him....See MoreFormaldehyde issues in cabinets
Comments (51)I sympathize with you and your situation, and would recommend looking into Histamine Intolerance. You may already be aware of this condition, but if not it may help you lessen your symptoms. The body reacts to many triggers by releasing chemical mediators (some of which are histamines) from the mast cells and often people become hyper reactive to all kinds of things, including foods, and release way too much of the stuff. It can cause symptoms in all parts of the body. The good news is, if you can cut back on the things that trigger you it is easier to cope with the overall load. Think of it like a bucket that fills up with histamine and when it gets full and spills over - bam! you've got the symptoms. It is different than allergies, and often causes these sensitivities. So if you are Histamine Intolerant changing your diet to low histamine foods may help you deal with the VOCs. You can find info by researching Histamine Intolerance or Mast Cell problems. Comments (78)i have an interesting thought. my layout is 42 then 24 corner then 42 again, if i ask the kitchen store to make my corner a 27. i take off 3 inches from 42 plus put a 3 inch filler on either side of the corner. I would get my open cabinet, and just "lose 6 inches for fillers" all togther, but i would have the accessibiltiy i want, is this cutting off my nose ot spite my face or can this actually work? and how would this look next to 21 doors?...See MoreUser
