Plz help the decorating dummy (living room)!
Comments (33)Did you end up doing the magnetized chalkboards in your kitchen? That's how we "chatted" -- you were interested in mine. (I have the all-white kitchen with lots of white marble and the two magnetized chalkboards on either side of our fridge and freezer, if that rings a bell.) Listen, don't sell yourself short! 2,400 square feet is a lot of flooring and (to be redundant) a lot of cleaning. I can see how rugs mightn't be tops on your list .... That being said, last weekend on HGTV's Find Your Style they did a Craftsman living room and used this rug in the Jewel colorway from Room & Board: It's definitely a modern goose on Craftsman style and unfortunately, none of these photos do it justice but in the episode it looked wonderful! from the episode: I don't know how much you want to do True Mission, and (caveat) I really like like a modern twist thrown in to keep it fresh and current, but what about a leather Moroccan rug or a Turkish kilim? Warning: you could be lost for days searching for those! (there are so many and it can become positively addictive -- I started to look for you but snapped to when two year-old Li'l Bit demanded a cuddle) This is the vase I got from etsy, just so you can see what I was thinking: I know you just hung the pictures in your stairwell, but do you think you could hang both of them together? I like them but think, in the photo, they appear kind of lost. In my mind's eye if hung together they wouldn't look so salt & pepper. (Don't change the one by the lamp, however!) Have a wonderful tapas party this Friday!...See MoreChip & Joanna Gaines - Season 5 Of ‘Fixer Upper’ Will Be The Last
Comments (22)Didn't they preview at the last show of last season a "new" show -- Behind the Design where she explains her choices, etc. on what goes into the design of the house? I wonder if that didn't get good ratings and will not go forwrard this season? I like the interaction between the two although I do think that the show is staged and what looks like a normal easy life (play with the kiddos, go show houses and then work on THAT house, kiddos come by with cupcakes while Momma works the night away) is not quite like that in reality. But, hey, look at Martha Stewart who on her show was the one that shoveled the compost, made a 9 course dinner and made fabulous crafts for centerpieces when in reality it took a whole crew to do that! So all on TV is not what it seems. I wish them well and I think that with everything that they've got going BECAUSE of the show (let's face it, there would be no mechandise, no books, no silos if there was no show) that they should do well. I'm sure even without a show they will be in demand for personal appearances and as I understand the daily count of visitors to Waco and Magnolia Market is in the THOUSANDS....See MoreMakeup remover and skin cream
Comments (64)Hi ilikefriday, I'm a sunscreen phobic person due to sensitivities, but I've recently had good luck with this one: https://www.clinique.com/product/1660/40650/sun/sun-self-tanners/spf-50-mineral-sunscreen-fluid-for-face. It goes on easy and is not an oily mess either which is a deal breaker for me. Needs to be shaken up each time. It claims to not leave a white or gray cast to the complexion, but I find I do get a slight white cast and I'm pretty fair (maybe I am applying too much?). However, I use it with this foundation even-bettertm-makeup-broad-spectrum-spf-15 when I know I will be seen by others and the cast is invisible with the foundation. Both go on easy-peasy and I'm out the door in two minutes. Three, if I am putting on mascara. I wait a minute for the sunscreen to set before I put on the foundation. I use a beauty blender to apply the foundation. Clinque is showing some nice looking deep shades for the foundation. They have a 100% money back no hassle guarantee if you don't like it or it doesn't agree with you. I have more "fails" in both sunscreen and foundation for one reason or another and I've never been more happy with sunscreen. I order from the website and it ships direct to my house in about a week. If I am not wearing make up (which is often), I'm kinda OK with this sunscreen: https://www.target.com/p/olay-regenerist-regenerating-lotion-with-spf50-1-7-oz/-/A-11205950 It does have a fragrance if that is a deal breaker for you. I would prefer it did not for myself, but so far, it is not causing me distress, thus it gets to stay in the "not a fail" drawer. For facial cleansing, I tend to use Cetaphil cleanser or Johnson's baby wash or shampoo. It works well for me. If I am taking off make-up the Clinque Mild bar soap gets it all off. The small bar lasts me over a year so don't let the price tag of a small bar of soap scare you away if you wanted to try it....See MorePlease help me pick foundation plantings Z6a
Comments (28)understand.. conifers are trees ... and no tree stops growing at some magical height .... most estimates with conifers are at ten years.. presume at 20.. they will be twice as big ... before i forget... do all your planning from the chairs ... the height you will be sitting there ... there is a big difference between what you see standing vs sitting ... back to the lesson ... take any common name.. and find the latin name ... the websites with the best info.. ALWAYS use the latin ... and then look for the annual growth rate ... this will tell you how much it should grow every season ... and then you just multiply by the decades .... i will do this one for you ... first baby blue spruce: https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffcm&q=baby+blue+spruce&ia=web the 4th link there takes you to this if you click on the right link there: https://www.babybluespruce.com/baby-blue bullet point two says: The growth rate i.e: the rate of extension of the leader, is slower in the first two to three years and increases every year until at approx. three feet tall growth becomes similar to other blue spruce types soooo .. in 20 or thirsty years.. this will be a telephone pole ... it is ONLY a seed source cultivar for its blue color ... this is how i look for future potential .. note the latin name: https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffsb&q=picea+pungens+baby+blue&iax=images&ia=images whass said all this ... now.. on the other hand.. there is a DWARF variation on the theme named baby blue eyes ... dwarf means it has a reduced annual growth rate.. so over the same decades.. it will end up smaller ... it appears to be a plant from the huge wholesaler monrovia.. note the first thing they mention.. is its slower growing ... that is why that name was mentioned above: https://www.monrovia.com/plant-catalog/plants/3634/baby-blue-eyes-spruce/ and here is future potential : https://duckduckgo.com/?q=picea+pungens+baby+blue+eyes+ACS&t=ffsb&iax=images&ia=images so thats how to research conifers .. and frankly.. and other NAMED plant hit send now before it gets ruined ken...See MoreFaron79
