How do I post a picture of my kitchen in transition?
Comments (1)Hi Megpie77, If you read the "New to Garden Web" link there are some specific directions to follow. Once you read and practice a few times you will be uploading all the time. I pasted below what is on the link. -boxerpups Posting a picture from your photo hosting account (e.g., PhotoBucket) First, where are your pictures? If on your computer only, you'll need to upload them somewhere on the web for the rest of us to see them. I upload pictures to PhotoBucket. Open an account w/PhotoBucket or other photo hosting site. Take a picture using a digital camera (or film camera but get them on disk when they're developed) Resize your pics so they're approx 400x300 (resize keeping the same proportions so they don't get distorted...i.e., don't specify a specific size, use %-ages or similar) Upload your pictures to your photo account Find the label that contains the link to the picture (In PhotoBucket, it's the box labeled "HTML Code") Copy that link and paste it into the "Message" box of a post. When you "Preview" your message, you'll see the picture. Posting a picture from somewhere other than your Photo hosting account Copy the following into the "Message" box where you want the picture to be: Next, replace the http://www.XXX/image.jpg with the address of the image. When you "preview" the message, you should see the picture Here is a link that might be useful: New to Garden Web........See MoreRe: What can I do with my new house, Exterior, etc. X-Post

Starting at the new porch roof edge add a wide trim board that goes across to the other wall., where the main roof meets the side wall and use hardi shingles above in a different color than the body of the house. Consider nicer window upstairs. I cann,t see the total slope of your yard put it looks like you have enough slope to put in a rock retaining wall. Add a few semi large focal rocks above and some low growing evergreens and a nice stone walk way and multch . Add something like river rock and easy care plants down in front of the rock retaining wall and you probly have the nicest house on your block and it would all be easy upkeep if you use the right plants and multch. If your able to do it your self all that should be less than 3000. We did alot of the same stuff with ours this last year and consider it a learning exp. as well as sweat eguity....See MoreHow do I repair the original plaster wall in our 1937 house?
Comments (6)Well we needed to access plumbing in our childrens' bedroom and put a poster over the hole. It's a really classy way of solving the problem. :D I'm not sure you would need to routinely access your plumbing stack, so you can probably just permanently patch it. We've done that in a couple of spots - one thing I do to help it transition is prime the new drywall with a somewhat shaggy roller and use Durock's First Coat drywall primer. Its sandable and puts some joint compound on the surface with a little bit of texture that helps to emulate the 90 years of paint our walls have received. Because it's by a back door, I would take the extra step and use high quality joint compound that resists shrinking with temperature swings. We are DIYers and seem to have a hard time with that. The surface of the walls ends up looking good but we can usually see a ghosty outline. Maybe if we hired a pro to do it, but we always have a small job that I don't think is very enticing....See MoreHow do I decorate our home Spanish Mediterranean style?
Comments (7)Yes, its possible to make your interior what you love...modern Mediterranean means what to you? Provide pics of a room or rooms you want to start with and create an ideabook with inspiration pics. Heres just a few pics... to me it means high contrast ie white walls with dark wood pieces like perhaps a dark wood coffee table with curved legs, wrought iron but simple lines, not ornate, simple lines in furniture, colorful pillows, large pieces of pottery, cyprus, olive trees, lemon trees...See MoreNHBabs z4b-5a NH
