No scapes: I don't know what my garlic is doing.
Comments (3)Hum... de ...de... I have no clue, but come this fall. Buy yourself some from one of the garlic suppliers online and you'll have success like you can't imagine. My personal advice is NOT to try and use grocery store garlic. Just spend the few extra bucks and you'll have a bucket load next summer. Just be sure and plant as directed for your area. In Indiana, we put them in the ground around October, lots of mulch!!!!!!!! HUgs, Maryanne Maryanne in In...See MoreNoel is near - I don't mean Christmas
Comments (25)Martha ~ Power going out is not good, especially for any length of time. Our power was out for 13 days after Wilma hit our area, and we had to do some adjusting of our daily lives that is for sure. There is so much of our life that depends on electricity. Doing without made us appreciate the every day little things we take for granted. I do hope and pray you don't lose your power and if you do, not for long, and that you have no damage to your homes. Comments (26)Coffeemom, I'm sure Hinsdale has changed a lot since you lived there, Heck, it's changed since I've moved here in in 1988. More and more section 8 or 9, whatever they're called, buildings are buing erected in that area, therefore, since, crime has increased..That's a shame because Hindsdale is a beautiful area, and like usual, distroying nature with what they deem progress.. Was your dad's grocerys store located in downtown Riverside? Do you remember the vicinity? Which side of Brookfield did your mom reside? I borrowed a hard cover book from Brookfield Library..it contains pictures of Brookfield homes/streets in the early 1900's..My block had 3 homes, the rest fields..It's an interesting book. Garden, save your money..lol..I'm pretty lucky growing tropicals in my home and small gh including citrus, hibs, azaleas, gardnias and many others. The Christia lived less than 2 wks..when it arrived several leaves had already dropped. From then on, one leaf a day fell..I hadn't changed anything..didn't even repot. All that's left is one weak stem..It's history. Think I saw the one I Brian's Botanicals.. Got mine on Ebay..Normally, I don't give up so easy, but in this case, w/this plant, I'll never purchase another. Good luck to anyone who buys one..you guys in warmer, tropical climates might have better luck..Toni...See MoreDon't mean to be vain, but...
Comments (32)Liz, the grandmother stuff happens to lots of people. It must be irritating too. I wish people would think before they blab. Jem, since I am 9 years younger, people are supposed to think he robbed the cradle, not the other way around. :o) Paula, she didn't seem mean-spirited, but who knows. She seemed sweet, but confused. We went out to dinner last night and while hub went to the restroom, the waiter came back to take our drink order and asked if I knew what my husband wanted to drink. I was so happy to hear that. Sleeper, from what I understand, her family used to own the business and when they were bought out, they kept her on. Could be that was part of the sales agreement and she needs the money, and that is why she continues to work there. I don't know though. She didn't look "off", she is a pretty, well-groomed older lady, but the remarks about knowing him since he was a boy and talking to his mother did throw me. She HAD seen him recently though, he went in to place the annual order a couple weeks before I picked it up. But I am gonna go with mistaken identity or senility, it makes me feel a whole lot better. :o)...See More- 6 years ago
