Comments (17)It was hard, tibs, but the fact is that DH and I learned from experience that we are comfortable with two cats and that three pushes us over the edge. Also, I just prefer male cats, another decision based on experience. The shelter is having a big shindig tomorrow with a lot of guests, and I don't fear for a moment that the little girl will be adopted. I won't be able to pick up the boys until Thursday, and their presence with her tomorrow will probably focus more attention on her than if she were alone in a cage. But I did think that she would be lonely without her brothers, and knowing about the shindig helped me feel better about that....See MorePlease meet my new baby doggie
Comments (8)Great video clip, Xuan! He's really a playful little guy! Through the years, I have found out that it's best not to give puppies socks or shoes to chew on... they don't know the difference between the ones you gave them, and the ones that belong to you! I lost a fabulous pair of heels to a bulldog pup... it wasn't her fault... I gave her an old sneaker to play with, and she thought she could play with all my shoes! Big mistake! So now... I give pups their own toys, dog toys. Kongs or rope toys, balls... stuffed squeaky dog toys... anything made specifically for dogs. When I catch a pup chewing on something they shouldn't, I tell them no and replace it with one of their own toys. It doesn't take long for them to grasp the fact that they can destroy their own stuff, but not yours! I've saved all my shoes and other belongings by sticking to my own rule! :-)...See MoreGuesses on breed(s)? Meet our new puppy
Comments (31)Congratulations! Bailey Rose is completely adorable and your story made me tear up a bit -- we have a cat we adopted as an adult and he has an eating disorder now from his time on the street--he will eat and eat and eat until you take it away from him, and it's been *6* years since we took him in. Poor dear : ( I'm a sucker for dog and cat yawns, for some reason : ) And WOW, I didn't know what a catahoula was, so I googled it and yes, I agree with Linda - catahoula sure does look like a serious possibility for some of that mix. Very cool, or should I say very catahoul : )...See MoreWant to jazz up my kitchen on a budget
Comments (58)it would look better centered, obviously, but it's really not difficult to move the hole. you'd use the same wiring you have, just thread it through the ceiling another foot or so, make a new hole. The old hole get's patched, skimmed, primed/painted. (or, you could use it as a small recessed light fixture. maybe put in another one opposite so it looks intentional) But patching up the hole can be done in a jiffy. If you remove the old fixutre yourself, hiring someone to do the new hole, patch the old hole, shouldn't be more than a few hundred. I gave you a few links that walk you through the process. it's really simple...See More- 8 years ago
