In the spring I grew some Golden Gate pole beans, which are long, thin wax beans with white seeds. One of the plants produced the same looking bean except with dark seeds. This fall, I planted those dark seeds and the result you can see in the photo. The vines are vigorous and produce plenty of short beans that are very tasty, with a beany flavor. One downside is these beans are small and a bit difficult to pick among all that growth. The main downside is they have strings. The mother was Golden Gate, but I have no idea what the father was. (I got the seeds in a swap.)
