Comments (65)Yea, I think I'm going to have to wait till I actually get the Travertine in to see what it looks like, they didn't have a sample of it at the design center. I'm leaning towards a Perla Light Quartzite, hoping that there will be more grey/silver (and some beige) in the backsplash. I'll find out in a few weeks probably....See MoreSea Pearl Quartzite Question!
Comments (8)Interesting question josephhou, there is no such thing as hard/soft quartzite. The reality is there is quartzite and there is marble. People sell marble as "soft quartzite" and that is wrong on many levels. If I were in your position I would use a few very simple tests to definitively determine if you have quartzite or not. It's easy to do. Then, if you have quartzite, you can polish or hone it as you please. If you do not have quartzite, then you can punt from there. But there's no need to hedge your bets when you can know the exact answer. All the info you need is here: http://ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/2692150/countertop-geology-part-six-lets-talk-about-rocks-some-more Please also direct your KD to this info, because he/she should also know the best way to deal with this question. Hope this helps!...See MoreRecommendation-faucet finish with sea pearl quartzite?
Comments (3)Polished nickel will look best! Just don't use bleach or harsh chemicals to clean it. You could also go with a classic polished chrome which can handle anything and never goes out of style. I worked for Kohler and they don't use a living finish for their polished nickel. The artifacts line does look best in the polished finishes or the new pewter finish. Brushed nickel and brushed stainless are not popular anymore with respect to NYH....See MoreSea Pearl Quartzite - what color did you paint your cabinets?
Comments (23)Wow, Cabinet painter coming out this friday. We are going white on all cabinets except the island which will be navy blue. Hopefully to match the backsplash. Will post before and after photo's when complete. Currently they are a dark brown. Went with some large navy blue arabesque tiles with white grout on backsplash....See Morecyc2001
