Anyone use the monorail in Las Vegas?

My daughter and I are going to see George Strait in February. We are only staying 2 nights and most of the hotels are way more than I want to spend. We found one that wasn't too bad, but it's at the opposite end of the strip from the concert (T-Mobile Arena). Was wondering what riding the monorail was like? Over crowded? Slow? Fast? Or should we just use Lyft or Uber?

Did you check out the T Mobile Arena website? The how to get there on the menu let's you know if your chosen hotel works with whatever mode of transportation you choose. I don't know what your budget is but do read reviews on Trip Advisor before choosing. I glanced and was surprised at how many nicely rated places were under 100.00 a night or so. That's pretty good pricing with a concert in town. Around here in California you could expect to pay 300.00 upwards a night, depending on the season. in a dump near a concert or event weekend in some areas.

I’ve always enjoyed the monorail in Disney Land from the hotel to the park. It was comfortable & fast, 50mph.

RE: Lyft/Uber on the Vegas strip

“The prices are generally much cheaper than taking a taxi and can save you $10-15 dollars. You can also put your exact hotel to see the exact cost of a Lyft or Uber. As of today, if there are no surge/prime time pricing it costs $10-13 for Uber and $9-13 for Lyft from the Las Vegas Airport to the Strip.”

I cannot answer what you have in your yard. If your home is fairly new construction chance are very likely it is a hybrid called 419 aka Tifway-I. But also understand the casino's have some of the best horticulturist money can buy. Ever been in Belagio Conservatory, Wynn, or Mirage and notice the beautiful gardens? If I am not mistaken I believe Bellagio has a huge nursery that grows most of the flowers plants, and tress for most of the Casino's in Vegas. Anyway I have never inquired what variety of Bermuda they have, but what I can tell you it is a semi-dwarf variety. If I had to guess I would say TifGreen or Sun Turf. With all that said, at this time of year you might be seeing Rye grass. They overseed with a Rye mix in mid October so it is green in Winter. The about late March, early april they will spray with a herbicide to kill off the Rye quickly as the Bermuda greens up. What I do know is the grass is not growing in soil. Like a high end golf green it is a soil less medium and in this case a very coarse sand. Anyway the grass is maintained everyday by some of the best pros in the biz.

Thank you..here is alittle bit more info.. Hello; I am a 32 yr old married lady from IL. Been married for 14 yrs.With 2 kids...my boy is 11 yrs old Cole(boarder coliie/lab mix) and my girl is 4 yr old Mia(retired greyhound).. I was born in the Northwoods of Rhinelander,Wis and lived there for the first 7 yrs of my life and the rest of the time I lived in IL. My dream is to move to a 2 acre piece of land in the mountains and build a log cabin to live in. I want to be able to have a garden and maybe a few chickens and a horse..But still be able to enjoy plenty of wildlife(like deer,moose,ect) and maybe have a small lake nearby where I can hear the calls of the Common Loons.. I do not hunt but have lot of family that do..I would not beopposed to trying it..I do love to target practice with my vary of guns and love going to the local gun shows when posssible..As for other outdoor activities camping and fishing are enjoyable things for me. My husband is not like me at all..he's a modern techy..and couch potatoe.. So I would like to meet ladies with the same interest as myself. As for my career--as of right now I am unemployed..But am am registered Pharmacy Technician..so looking for a job in that field for now...my dream career would be owning a used bookshop in a small town. Hubby would like to operate a chess store in the same building with a cafe in between them both. Hope to make new friends here... PS..Is there a scheduled chat night and time?? Lisa

I haven't read it, but I did buy some of the Hawaiian Tropic seeds that the website offered. I have one of them growing now in hopes of getting some Fall tomatoes. So far the plant is doing great. Next year I'll plant one in the Spring and see if it really produces in the Vegas Summer heat. I'll post about it on my garden blog linked below. I have stayed at Treasure Island many times over the years, and If you want clean and comfortable at a good price, I would suggest it. That being said, The T Mobil Arena which is down by the Monte Carlo really isn't that far of a walk. The sights and the people watching are worth it. Also, if you just want to take a taxi down the strip for 3 people that may be worth it.

We like the monorail. It's plenty fast enough. Traffic was terrible, so it was faster than the traffic. We also rode the bus when going places. That was fine too.

Thanks for all your responses. I was looking for personal experiences. We were thinking of the Lucky Dragon. Actually Lauren is really wanting to stay there and she can get it pretty cheap on the website she uses. I'd rather stay closer to the arena.

Uber and Lyft in Vegas really saved us a lot of money while in Vegas last March. We also used the Monorail but it was more limited in where it actually went and dropped you off.
