There are a few North American natives in the "touch-me-not" family .... impatiens capensis (orange jewelweed), impatiens noli-tangere (western touch-me-not), impatiens pallida (pale touch-me-not), impatiens aurelia (pale yellow touch-me-not), impatiens ecalcarata (spurless touch-me-not). They're all annuals (I think), but with the seeds popping all over the place, there shouldn't be a problem keeping them going year after year. I've read that they need a cold/moist period to germinate, so they would be excellent candidates for WSing. Invasive? I suppose it could be, but you could keep those popping seeds in check, or be ready to pull up seedlings when you see them. You describe it as just about perfect, and that's apt. It stands out in the hosta garden for its colour, form and perfect leaves. The leaves are exceptionally slug resistant. The colours are beautiful, and become more beautiful as Touch of Class matures. In my garden, surrounded by hostas, Touch of Class beguiles and beckons. It is one of the hostas that I am compelled to visit each day.

None of these scare stories have happened to me. I’ve had mine for almost 2 years. I leave it set on medium hot. If you need to adjust the temp, you can always at least clean your hands first, then move the lever to change temp. I pretty much only need to change it if I want cold water for coffee pot, etc, in which case my hands aren’t dirty! Ours has never turned itself on. I can’t understand why so many people who have never tried one are so negative. If you cook, you get dirty hands and it’s a great feature. It is very simple to use manually if you prefer. It turns itself off automatically after a few minutes, so no risk of it overflowing or something.

There are a lot of Subaru commercials that give me a fuzzy feeling. Like the latest one when the dog finally approves of the boyfriend. Watching the AMA's (on a delay since there is a lot to fast forward to). Pink and Kelly Clarkson together gave me goosebumps.

I often watch videos of people working with/training dogs and horses. I find myself touched by the connection and the strong bond the animals have with their people and vice versa.

l would not give a dime to he ASPCA. Less than 4% of their money goes to help the cats and dogs you see in the commercials. Most of their actual spending on animals goes to eliminate horse drawn carriages in NYC, liberating farm chickens and anti-hunting etc. Which is all well and good if the doners actually were informed what their agenda is. The ads are deliberate tearjerkers and imply that your money is going to your local shelter.

Taking Chance with Kevin Bacon. Only movie I ever bought, and I bought two copies in case I loaned one out and it wasn't returned. Which is what happened. LOL

Gosh, angelaid, I just came on to say Taking Chance, too. I just recently taped it but haven't watched it yet. I've seen it several times and if anyone hasn't, its well worth watching. General Kelly mentioned it recently so I searched it, found it, taped it and look forward to watching it again.
