One year ago today, we were in Sicily. We went to the town of Monreale on the slope of Monte Caputo, about 10 miles from Palermo. There, we spent a while inside the Monreale Cathedral, which was begun in the 12th century. It was one the most fantastic cathedrals that I have ever visited. This is a good shot the length of the nave looking at the main altar.

"Dianamo, we went through a bad spell with her scratching furniture, and we applied those cat claw tips for several months to deter her. I had waited until the kids were grown and gone to get a really nice sofa, then dear Daisy clawed the heck out of it. Boo hoo!" Awww, that's a shame about your couch. But she does look pretty with her nails like that.

Casey, I love those! Great photos. As you probably know, I've been volunteering as a photographer for FindAGrave for years. In addition to headstones, they also appreciate pictures that show the cemetery. Even if the cemetery has already been photographed, if you can improve on the existing photo with one of your own (I'm sure in many cases you can), uploading yours will give people a choice.

Annie, My brother and I were in Prague years ago, and were in the square in front of that clock. He handed me his camera saying he was having trouble lining up the shot of the clock through the viewfinder with his glasses on, asking if I could take the picture. I took the camera, looked through the viewfinder, and <click> took the picture. At which point the camera started rewinding because it had reached the end of the roll. My brother then said, "No I meant when the clock stares ringing, which was less than a minute away, and the animated figures start coming out and moving around. " I think we didn't have another roll of film with us, and so I had completely missed the shot he wanted.
