Corpuscularia with white spots / woody stem

Hi all. I received this plant as a gift recently (corpuscularia taylorii I think) - it's so cute and I would like to figure out what's wrong with it before I repot, so it won't die. Googling has left me quite confused!

Problems:
- Woody, dry-looking stem

- White spots of varying size (Not mold - don't rub off, slightly indented. Haven't changed in size since I got the plant. Also only on leaves at the middle of the plant and not at the very top or very bottom.)

- Wrinkled leaves (probably needs a water? Hesitant to water until I figure the rest out!)

What's causing the woody stem and the white spots? I thought the woody stem might be dehydration. The white spots I'm less sure - thought they might be physical damage originally but saw a couple of extremely tiny, white/translucent bugs on the pot this morning - is the plant being eaten?

I really appreciate any help/advice you can give me!
