No I wouldn't paint them. I would spend the money and get different flooring. the kitchen is fine as is. If (after getting rid of the dizzying floor tile) you want, you could paint the island white.

It's OK! I wouldn't paint them. You can add some other decorations to improve the temperament of whole kitchen. For example, installing the pendants lights over tables.

Hello. I like your kitchen very much, I would not begin to paint anything.

The kitchen looks great. That wall with the lone painting can easily become a feature wall with color and bolder display. Maybe area rug under dining table-personalize this end of your space.....all is well in your kitchen.

Another vote to leave the cabinets. You may find you come to like them. You might follow Beth's suggestion about changing the floor out. And add under cabinet lighting if there isn't any.

I am not a lover of that color of cabinet but I must admit that kitchen looks great, I would add some fun lighting over the island and BTW unless your painter is actually a cabinet refinisher not a house painter you will be much better off leaving the cabinets as is.And that wall where the art is is crying for a big statement piece.

I wouldn’t paint the cabinets either. I especially wouldn’t ruin them by making them gray.

I would paint the walls to bring some color and life into your kitchen.

I normally vote to paint cabinets (usually when cabinets are grainy oak in a less than stellar stain), but in this case I like your kitchen as it is. Those dark cabinets would not work in a lot of other scenarios, but your walls, ceiling, and space overall are so light that I think they provide a nice contrast. I also don't think gray cabinets would look as nice with the tile as the dark cabinets do.

Same hear, I normally like a nice, bright kitchen, but yours already reads light and bright, even with your cabinets, which are lovely.

You have a lovely Kitchen! As with the general consensus of the previous contributors, the cabinets provide a nice, striking contrast within your space. The recommendation would be to leave them as they are. If you do decide to paint them a lighter hue, however, consider a darker wall color to maintain some contrast. Leave them. A repaint would be a downgrade. Even professional quality.

I don't typically like dark cabinets either but I think they are right for your space. And I paint everything! Leave them as they are.

White would not go with your countertops or backsplash. You would have to do an off white/ cream, which would clash with the walls.

I'm sure there's a shade of taupey-grey out there that would work but I can't see your countertops well enough to weigh in on that.

I understand the desire to have everything done before you move in. But painting cabinet doors would be done off site I'm assuming, and painting the boxes does not have to be overly disruptive. It's not like doing construction. So if there's a possibility you could learn to live with it, try it out for a few months first.

I *knew* I would paint the maple cabinets in our kitchen when we moved in. But other projects took priority, and by the time it was on the docket nearly a year later, I found that I appreciated the classic, easy to care for finish that I have. In six months you might feel more strongly one way or the other and you won't need Houzz to weigh in on your choice- you'll know!

I love your cabinets and would not paint them!

Leave them alone. If you simply cannot abide them, sell them and buy new ones.
