Have you ever been so sick you thought you're going to die?
Comments (56)Well what a great report from you, pitimpinai!! The last I heard you were still very low in energy and still on a ton of medication and little appetite, and listen to you, helping the neighbor till up a lawn! LOL What a nice neighbor you were to plant tomatoes and Dahlias. :-) I am happy to hear that you've also benefited from a shorter work day. Great that you had all that time off saved up. I bet you really needed it to get your energy back. We have gotten pretty much back to what is normal for us here. The weather has been stupendous in the past month! I have never seen the cover crop in the veggie beds so high. We've also gotten all the leaves mowed and collected in bins, ours and three neighbors. [g] We have gotten somewhat cleaned up for the year in the garden, but I keep adding to my list of what I want to get done before the weather turns. Still have a small amount of bulbs to plant and three shrubs to get in the ground, some pots to clean and put away and that will just about do it. I am actually looking forward to a break from the garden. Not that we don't get outside and enjoy it, but it's nice this time of year, to focus on other things. During the gardening season, the garden seems to push out other priorities. [g] I enjoy the winter garden and by the time spring comes, I am just itching to get back to a new growing season. Glad you are able to enjoy gardening again and hope you stay well this winter! :-)...See MoreHave you ever said 'I'm tired and I'm going in, just as soon ...'
Comments (15)... All the time. I never seem to know when to stop, even with hubby calling out the door "Time to come in now". When it's hot I pin a pillow slip with crushed ice in it around my neck. When it gets dark I turn on the outside lights, but try to come in by 10 PM so the lights don't bother the neighbors. I'd rather be outside than inside any ole' day and gardening gives me an excuse to be there. Incidentally, for insect bites Bob happened to notice that HEB brand antibiotic ointment has a topical pain reliever in it so it stops the itch of mosquito bites very nicely. Maybe other brands have it too. Well, almost time to put the rolls in the oven. My computer is right next to the kitchen so it's easy to take a little rest from cooking in that chair :-) Wishing you all a blessed Easter Sunday ......See MoreHave you ever been a Nielsen Family?
Comments (11)Well, I talked to the rep. She said they don't use as much equipment as they used to but they do still take apart your TV and all that. For us it would be for 2 years, if we do it, and our viewing choices would represent 28,000 households. Hmmm, no reality shows in this house, LOL. We still haven't decided yet. Oh, and they pay 68.00 up front with periodic checks. She didn't say how much the checks are for, but that's better than 12.00 a year. Especially if it turned into one big hassle regarding the TV equipment and all that. Radio! They'd be disappointed with us too, Deanna. We only listen to it in the car. Did they hook up your car radio? Annie, they'd be fine with what you watch. They want all different kinds of watchers, which is good. I asked her if I could turn the thing on and off because I often leave the TV on for the dog. Now I'll have to be careful about what I leave on for her - if we do it....See MoreHave you ever been a recipient of...
Comments (16)This wasn't exactly random but a few months ago I witnessed a car hit a brand new car in the parking lot outside my work, and the guys just parked and walked away. He hit it really hard so he obviously knew he had done it. I walked up to the new car and it had huge scratches on it. So I left a note for the owner with my info saying I had witnessed it, and I took a bunch of pics of her car (and his car) on my cell phone. The woman called me when she got back to her car and I got her email and forwarded her all the pictures and a statement of what I witnessed. Her insurance company called me the next day and I forwarded it all to them also. Anyway, I forgot all about it and a few weeks later the lady showed up at my work with a card and a box of fancy chocolates for me! She had gone into the few businesses around our block to figure out where I worked. She asked all about my work (a non-profit that houses homeless people) and she took my card and said she would also make a donation! She was so sweet and appreciate about the small kindness I had done her! It comes back to you exponentially!...See More
