Comments (7)Hi Fun and Pal, yes I like brass and even shiny brass to a point. The 80âÂÂs side tables that I made into a bunching coffee table set are shiny real brass but I keep them and like them with a patina. I only use brass cleaner sporadically so it does not look too shiny (in person). The cabinet appears to be made fairly well with wood and veneer over wood in parts and solid wood shelving and drawers inside. What I had hoped was brass trim around the smoked glass, well, IâÂÂm not sure what it is yet. It is metal but the gold stuff does not look brassy as much as it looks like a lacquered gold. IâÂÂm not keen on that. At first I thought maybe it was high shined with brass cleaner but on closer inspection that is not the case (but I could be wrong). Other than that and getting the top redone I do not think I could find something better to work in my $ range. However, I think I will take your advice and leave the gold look for now. Next on the agenda is finding the obscure living room corner chair that will jive with the dining chairs on opposite corner of house in open plan. Whey!...See Morequick opinion
Comments (16)Re: rwiegand “each ~3 dB change is a doubling of sound intensity” I do want to disagree with the above post! You’re confusing loudness and power. A 3db difference in power would be a factor of 2, as in a 200-watt amplifier has 3db more gain more than a 100-watt amplifier. However, when we’re discussing loudness as in sound (SPL sound pressure level) or acoustic output as from a speaker or other mechanical device, it requires a 10db increase in power to double the sound output level. So again going back to the audio amplifier analogy, a 100watt amplifier has 10 times the electrical output power (+10db) of a 10watt amplifier but is only twice as loud. I hope that makes sense; I know it ‘sounds’ confusing… SR...See MoreNeed QUICK Opinions: Placement of Microwave

Comments (31)No the chair that broke really broke badly it was old and needed to go so that's not a problem the problem is now from there I agree white is difficult to stay clean we really don't use the room that often but point taken. I now have another thought so please don't shoot me. In this picture I moved the current chair to the corner and then put a place mark bench where that chair used to be to see what this idea might look like-- so wondering if maybe some sort of interesting bench, double ottoman or even a small loveseat would work there .. the space is good for something 48 wide by 26-27 or so deep. It looks like it pulls together a bit more. Rug yes -- to come down the line... I know LOL.. but for the moment. I feel like I like this better than another chair and it might give me extra seating. I have other chairs from dining room could use but I am trying to round out the room with something more permanent. BTW that big tall item at the end of the room was an old grandfather clock I believe that was made into shelves... I inherited it but do plan to pass it on to someone....See Morebeckysharp Reinstate SW Unconditionally
