Anyone use Appliance Builders Wholesalers in DC / MD / North VA?
Comments (1)I purchased my KitchenAid double oven through them and had it delivered in about a week. They were definitely the lowest price around. This was not a floor model and came wrapped in the original packaging. I went to the store in Ashburn when I made the purchase and the delivery came out of Maryland (Rockville I believe). We did play phone tag when we were trying to set up the delivery but the delivery guys were very professional and made sure that it was set up where I wanted it. Comments (2)SUbzero/Wolf has that policy. However their display warrany is about half the length of their regular warranty. I think I have hit a record of 5 years since buying and just confirmed through authorized installers (they gave subzero the serial numbers) that the warranty will definitely start on installation. BTW if you get it installed through authorized installers Subzero/Wolf will tack on an additional year of full warranty. As weissman said this is easy enough to confirm through the manufacturers but you may need the serial numbers....See Morekitchen appliances-starting from scratch
Comments (0)Can anyone share their experience with electric cooktops, ovens and dishwashers? Am concerned about many of the service problems I have read about the failure of electronics, particularly in cooktops and wall ovens....See MoreCan builders actually get better prices on appliances and sinks?
Comments (7)Nope. A contractor of any kind has to establish a repeat business in order to get contractor pricing on anything, ala the Kenmore appliances. For one offs, you are actually more likely to get better pricing than he is because he won't be focused on that and you will. You have the time to spend looking for the best price and he doesn't. Just be 1000% sure that when you order something that you understand what it is you are ordering, as YOU are taking the responsibility for any damage, parts missing, or hidden defects that need warranty service. If the plumber has to reschedule a trip because the fancy shower valve that you bought won't work with the trim you bought, you are out that money plus he won't warranty that valve to actually work the way you want it to. If the 3K special farm sink that you built your whole kitchen design around comes in cracked, and you failed to notice it at delivery, then it's your problem to solve and if you want to stay on time, you'd better have a backup plan. Or, just have a PODS ready and waiting to store all of this stuff before you break ground. And never let a delivery person leave the scene until you've inspected the shipment....See More- 6 years ago
