Comments (11)I would suggest marble rather than lacquer for the family room. My friend has a kitchen table where she used leftover marble from her slabs on a "tulip" base. It has gotten lots of abuse and still looks fine. Lacquer is more much delicate just as wood is more delicate than glass or stone surfaces. I spent a long time looking for the "perfect" coffee table. My aesthetic question would be why don't you want some element of contrast in the room.
