Comments (14)Thanks everyone! I've included the floor plan which gives the dimensions of our main living space which hopefully is more helpful. As for questions: I don't know what our style is. The kitchen has no style, as you can see! Hence, my wanting to paint it and make it more our own. I like the morning room table and would like a rug for under it, when I find one I like. I am also on the lookout for a piece for the back wall--which will probably be a black piece of furniture that we can store wine/glasses etc in, if I ever find what I like! As for the island: it's not large enough to add an overhang, as the pantry is right behind it. And further out is the basement door, which is unseen in the pic, but you can see it in the floor plan. I've toyed with adding counter space on the other side of counter, just past the DW, and having an eating area there. DH says no b/c it will be a pain to walk around to get to the Morning Room, which is where we eat all meals now. What do you all think? Our house is not very large, and he worries that if we add a counter/bar, it will make the house even smaller. I'm also including our family room...which is not finished yet. That's been a work in progress as well. DH picked out the couch, which is too big for the room, so it's been frustrating! Is this all too much to consider? Some days I feel overwhelmed by not having a house that I love. I have learned though to not let DH have any decisions anymore!! :) I do love the idea of adding trim to the top of the cabinets--we've talked about doing that for a while now, but DH is working a lot, so when he has the time, we'd like to add that. We do have enough storage, but I like the idea that Rhome gave. I'm only 5ft 1in, so the top 2 shelves of the cabinets are useless to me! Above the fridge is out of the question!! LOL I'm not sure we could take out the wall behind the sink. There's not a lot of "dancing room" as is. Ok, here are more pics if they are helpful: Thanks!!...See MoreWhite Kitchen Reveal (long post with photos)
Comments (60)I had to look at your kitchen again and I know these are the cabinets I want and after my deadline, I will get a price from Home Depot. Thank you! Love the color also as it is white but not stark and I am glad you had white things in the picture to see this. Love the hardwood chosen also. I also love your Santos Mahogany floors and your doggie!...See MoreWhich would you choose if this were your kitchen? Pics
Comments (23)The combinations are beautiful but I am completely confused ... there are more than just two tiles and two mosaic boards in the pictures: There is the LA, a simply gorgeous beige limestone looking tile (is it a limestone or is that the crossville tuscan clay?), a long & narrow set of big tiles with what I think is a crossville tag (which means my beige limestone tile hasn't been addressed at all :-( ), and there is also a crocodile tile there. Then there are the two mosaic boards. So, I can't really figure out which of the figures your four options refer to nor where would those be used. For my part, I LOVE the Labrodor antique tile and I assume you're considering that for the counter (Check and I approve ;-) ). I also love that beige limestone looking thing - but don't think that should be a counter option if you're considering it for there - make it the floor and you're a-okay in my book. Don't care for the long narrow big tile especially if it replaces either of the other two. The mosaics - both are gorgeously beautiful but if callieandkarin say that theirs is the WZ weave, then the bamboo weave gets my vote although the other is lovely too. With the LA, though, I would double the vote for the bamboo weave as it will complement the LA and not fight it for independent validation. Beautiful choices. But please, what is that gorgeous limestone stone/tile???? I need to know this!...See More2ManyDiversions
