Comments (5)Are those tall things... lillies? Or am I dreaming? If they are, that may be a spectacular planting. It is nicely done already, just that the plants have all grown a bit too big. Divide them all down to a third the size they now are, eliminate the odd thing you really don't like, and yes, wait out a winter. You will see then how the pond looks when it is more exposed; it may be a bit mundane. It's quite artful as it is. If you need to replace something, those hideous evergreen columns could go - to be replaced with nicer selections of narrow evergreens; there are dozens of both columnar and weeping selections. But first, evaluate what sights and sightlines they block, and whether they are in the right place and whether they are wide enough/too wide. And wow, prune whatever's on the fence. Looks like something with territorial aspirations. KarinL...See MoreHelp re-landscaping a sometimes-park/sometimes-pond area of yard
Comments (22)violetwest Beware that you cannot remove the images you put in a post. You can however in the comments. So why can't you edit the images in a post? And if that's the case, why isn't it obvious. (it's not necessarily a common website or forum restriction.) There are still lots of people and lots of other reasons to make this available. And as it turns out it doesn't take much coding if any at all to add. I made a mistake when I posted and put images that I would have preferred remove once this post is no longer relevant. Why? Well, cause I should be able to do what I want with my images. (And yes I realize, I made the mistake.) Had I known the stipulations before hand or done any sleuthing I may have noticed and NEVER posted at all. Or simply swapped the images to the comments instead of posting them in the post with my question. But...I was excited to share and although I don't have an issue with the advice I got, it didn't need all the images I posted to get. I guess I'm just not like everyone else...I don't post pics of my belongings everywhere and was disappointed. I'm allowed to be. If you don't get it then don't beware....See MoreWhat to do about landscape
Comments (6)We've done well with vinca minor as a ground cover, plus boxwoods. Once the ground cover fills in, it cuts down on weeding. Boxwood looks nice all year. You do need to trim, but not into a clever shape. A nice simple cushion shape is easy. May be able to keep the other small plants. Do you garden and want annuals, or do you prefer easy? We moved shrubs that were too close to the house and they survived, so maybe you can relocate the Who tree and trim it way down to start a new life?...See MoreWhat can I do to enhance landscaping?
Comments (1)If you can afford to, widen the path to the front door to be as wide as the entry slab. Place a small (that's small) tree on the left of the door at a slight angle off the corner and wrap the bed on that side around to include the tree. Plant an attractive ground cover around the shrubs....See MoreRevolutionary Gardens
