To bzamp58 Hi, I make and decorate cakes. I have NO trouble at all with my recipes for doing cakes. I always use the roller. Just make sure you do the wet ingredients first. The add the dry. My cakes are light, moist, fluffy. (As with all recipes and the DLX the wet should go in first dry last). Thanksgiving...Whip Cream! My granddaughter is not too familiar with my DLX...was using white bowl and beaters, she said I can do the whip cream Gram. Huh well we had chunky almost butter whip cream! The look on her face was priceless. How we laughed! Just added a tablespoon of cream to the 2 cups whipped and consistency was fine for the pumpkin pie! And I am thrilled this year to have my DLX for all my Christmas cookie orders! So much easier! Last year I used my 1980 Kitchen Aid and did 3000 cookies in three weeks. I had been so booked with wedding cookies so got a late start! Still got a late start this year cause we did a total "kitchen make-over"! But now my wonderful DLX and new kitchen...I am so blessed! I will chime in and agree with the idea that news papers are necessary in our society. We continue to get our local newspaper, slim to be sure but much more informing than our local TV news and inevitable commercials.(I know, they pay the bills!) Even in our small community of 160,000 (I'm guessing) and very local TV; it can only bring you a brief view of what is happening. I think, too, most folks watch local TV to hear about the weather. DH and I both read local newspapers when we travel and are most often jealous of the papers in larger areas....Sacramento, San Jose, Phoenix to name only a few. I also faithfully "read" CNN, BBC, PBS as well as some networks as I believe that "reading them" instead of watching/hearing gives me more depth....if I want to have that info. BTW, if you don't see your local paper, how do you find out how your education system is working...how the transit program, or help for Seniors or the new growing pains your community is investigating...how they are spending your tax dollars. What about your State...your Country. I don't know about "fliers"....the only ones I see are sales ads, and magazine-like print outs of coupons and information about certain places of business. An informed citizenry makes better government. Maybe some of our less than great governing bodies are what the uninformed society (we may become) deserves. I don't want to imagine a future where our news is filtered thru 'twitter" and "facebook". I do appreciate a 'heads-up" alert to 'happenings' so I can "check it out", but that is not where I get my important news. We also subscribe to the Economist and Time and I frequently research small snippets of local interesting bits of information. I DO so love what an amazing tool my computer is.

when our daughter was about 3, we were at the mall and we decided to have an ice cream cone. Asked Erin if she wanted one and she said yes. so we got 3 ice cream cones. she put up a fuss because her cone had ice cream in it....so my husband knocked the ice cream out and gave her just the cone. she was happy. Next time we went to the mall, asked her again if she wanted an ice cream cone...and she said yes. so my husband order two ice cream cones and one just a cone. Handed her the empty cone. she immediately said, "I want ice cream in it!" People standing around us must have thought we were the meanest people ever....to have ice cream cones and just give the poor child only a cone. so he handed it back and asked for ice cream on it. You just never know with kids. One day they will want one thing....the next, something else.

I've noticed this posting on the mobile site from my phone. Whatever they're using for the text editor does not play nice with my phone's autocomplete/autocorrection. It's like it's not always recognizing when a word ends and another begins - you can see it in action if you pay attention to the predictive text options. This seems to be why it truncates stuff you just finished writing and will change out half of a longer word with a seemingly nonsensical autocorrection.
