Happy Halloween
Comments (5)Just a couple more minutes for trick or treat (6 t0 8 PM) and not a single kid, not only on our little side street but nowhere else. The weather did not help. Like your gruesome decorations. I gave that up a couple of years ago. I think I turn off my outside light, am pretty sure that nobody else is coming. Tired of sitting on the steps with my laptop and the door half open....See MoreHappy (almost) Fall and Halloween!
Comments (7)Annette, I hope you get lots done and that he does take pictures. I love seeing pictures of different areas. I broke the stem off one of the pumpkins, so I will be cooking it Monday before rot sets in. I had to pick one of the Long Island Cheese Squashes too because the bottom had split. I'm curious to see what kind of flesh it has. Supposed to be better than pumpkin........we will see. I have never grown it before. becr, we really feel like fall now that it is cooler. We even have leaves dropping and at last got lovely rain yesterday and last night. I hope the fall color is good this year....See MoreHappy Halloween!
Comments (9)Hi ladies :) Better late than never :-( My son has been sick the night of Thursday and so I was during the weekend - well, I presume that is my son's fault or maybe it's my fault as a friend brought beverages and while I'm acostumated to drink 6° white wine, I didn't noticed that she bought 13° wine - really nice wine... When I woke up Saturday, my head was like a pushing ball! The party was fine; but the friend who was supposed to bring the main dish "forgot" to come and after having tried to call her a thousand times, I finally went to the supermarket to buy some things to make vegetable pies. Also, another friend brought the pumpkin - a big one - and made a soup... that had the taste of chicory. But the party was really great! Our kids have been almost the only to trick our neighbours so they came back with big candy bags, lol. Just have to plan a new party for next year! Yes, Luvs, it's me on the banner ;-) (I wish I was just like this witch, lol). Well, have to go back to my writings (I write an article in one day instead of one week, not bad eh...) See you ladies !!!...See MoreOT: Happy Halloween!
Comments (18)I first saw the movie version when I was 16.....so that was 1977, and when I was in university a local indie cinema (long defunct :-( ) used to show it at midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. I saw it dozens of times more and converted bunches of friends to RH fans :-) we used to come out of the cinema after the film and dance and sing down the deserted streets to wherever our cars were parked :-) Did a group entry at an SF convention as a RH entry (I dyed my hair black and went as Magenta, my Mom didn't recognise me on the news :-) ) and also wore the costumes to be in the audience at a local air force base when they showed the movie in their cinema. When DH and I were dating we went to a stage production in Perth, which was quite good. Before the show extras dressed as ghouls were filtering off the stage and through the audience trying to make various people jump; there were some younger girls behind us who squealed gratifyingly every time the "ghouls" went near them so naturally ALL the ghouls in the theatre had a go or two :-) When we celebrated our 25th anniversary we went to Sydney and as luck would have it there was a new live production (rather more raunchy than that of 25 years earlier, not that we objected, just an interesting observation) so we booked seats for the day before our actual anniversary. I guess it was an unpopular day (Tuesday) so they cancelled it and moved our tickets to the next day, our anniversary, and upgraded us to almost front row seats, drinks at intermission and souvenir packs complete with feather boas to wave :-) New Year wouldn't be New Year without the Time Warp :-) and I can still sing almost all of the songs... Yes, RH is one of my all-time favourite musicals :-) So is Sound of Music, I have very Catholic tastes :-D I think you'd make a good Eddie, Brad, your face reminds me a lot of a young Meat Loaf with glasses :-)...See MoreLynnNM
