Now that's a fall scene if I've ever seen one :o). DH just left with DS2, they're heading up to the lake, north end of the island to do some more work on the new cabin. While the cat's away the mouse will play or work like .... is more like it. I have four days to myself with no interruptions, at least I hope that's the way it's going to go.
I hope to get a lot of cleanup done, hopefully the rain will hold off, fingers crossed. If DH took the camera I'll post a few pictures when he gets back.

Sooo charming! Ill be honest here, im so sad summers ending! This winter i must put away extra money because this year i spent like crazy on my garden. I am already planning next springs projects!

I like to put a bale of hay by the front door with some plants too, last year i got an ornamental millet plant that looked great in the fall scene. Maybe at the end of september ill put up my fall thinngs!

You've put me in the mood, I must go buy pumpkins Monday. That looks great.

What a lovely autumnal display! Can't wait til the weather cools off so I can go and buy some pumpkins and set them out. If set out too early, they will rot from the warm temps! Becky

I broke the stem off one of the pumpkins, so I will be cooking it Monday before rot sets in. I had to pick one of the Long Island Cheese Squashes too because the bottom had split. I'm curious to see what kind of flesh it has. Supposed to be better than pumpkin........we will see. I have never grown it before.

becr, we really feel like fall now that it is cooler. We even have leaves dropping and at last got lovely rain yesterday and last night. I hope the fall color is good this year.

HOT and HUMID here in AL Rain and rain and rain...yeah. No sign of Fall. It is hotter and more humid now than it has been in years. We are glad. My roses are loving it...full of blooms and new growth. We are no where near Fall.

I did grow them. I had to process a huge Long Island Cheese pumpkin and one of the pie pumkins yesterday. The first developed a crack along the bottom and the other I broke the stem off. I knew they would rot. I ended up with 9 pints of puree and made a pie and pumpkin bread to test out the L.I. Cheese one. Tasted very good. Not quite as orange as pumpkin but sweeter and less stringy.
