Pella, in general, does not have very good reviews from consumers, so that's why I'm wondering if the Simonton 5500 would be a better option. Plus, it's saves a decent chunk of money.

Yes, it is easy to slide and the glass area is pretty good. The center fixed window on this configuration is at about the max for factory built. You can get bigger in the field but it's more money. The area is total 10 foot tall by about 16 wide. Awnings lower left and lower right otherwise they are all fixed. There needed to be framing in between the 3 stacks. It's not 9 melded together. About a year ago we had all our windows and a patio slider door replaced with Renewal by Anderson's new Fibrex windows. The Fibrex is a composite of wood fiber blended with a polymer: it wont flake, rust, blister, peel, crack or corrode, is 2x stronger than vinyl and resists warping. I live in NJ so we chose the Low-E4 SmartSun glass: their most energy efficient glass option for cool and hot climates and blocks 95% of UV rays that can damage drapes and furniture. They are easy to clean, and look good; there are all sorts of styles to choose from. They had a very experienced team install them in only 2 days. @lucieanna28, thank you so much. I have not looked at the Sierra Pacific, I’m looking at Anderson 100 in particular. Casement windows. Was thinking grids outside glass to hopefully give more of a wood window look. I don’t think I’ll open the windows much, so more of a visual decision for me rather than functioning the window. I need to look at Marvin as a comparison. I really appreciate your input. WoW, I agree!!! I was trying to search back on old posts to get feedback from people rather than starting a new post, and it is very nice of people to come and be honest about their choices! Helpful for me!
